Replying To royaldunne:  "Yep I actually agree with you, he is really only filling in until harnan or his cousin is back to fitness.
On the backs I also agree. Perhaps worst performance from the backs since the Longford game. Appeared disjointed compared to Dublin game. But willing to cut them some slack as it was the first Game with this unit since March."
Hickey had a really good game yday was taking off.so questions are been asked on it.shane was visibly wrecked conlon could have came on there.so we had options poor managing or other??

Hi my was replaced by like for like (and he was spent at the time ) who is the natural cb we could have thrown on. Btw he was tigerish defending in the 69 minute. If you look for fault you will find it.

Question In your opinion should Shane McEntee be playing 6 for this current squad !

A lot of positives and some fair (and unfair) criticism. For two weeks time I would go for;

Colgan

Lavin
McGill
Ryan

Keogan
Harnan
Hickey

Jones
Menton

J McEntee
McMahon
O' Sullivan

Morris
Walsh
O Reilly

After his impact off the bench last twice I can't see Morris not starting the next day. It Harnan is not available I would start Conlan or Toner (and move Ryan to 6). Lenihan, Devine, Campion, Costello, Scully all unlucky and could come in.

One of the biggest positives for me is Ronan Jones. He is finding his feet and is another powerful ball carrier. Everytime he picked the ball up yesterday he was intent on creating a score and his size and power created serious issues.

Not as fussy with the missed chances, that will come. Attacking wise we have looked very good last two games with more direct ball, forwards are out in front and winning their battles and they are not shy in taking their man on. In recent years we have no looked dangerous unless keogan ran past 5 men. The current crop of forwards look confident

Keeper still a big problem for me but we are moving the right way quickly now. Eoghan Frayne will be added in next 12 months at some stage. If we could unearth a keeper we would be close. A Keeper, Frayne and Nash? Could be the missing links

My team for next game

Colgan

Lavin
McGill
Toner

Keogan
S mcentee (doubtful harnan be fit)
Hickey

Jones
Menton

J McEntee
Morris
J wallace

McMahan
Walsh
O Reilly

Assuming I mcentee is fit also plenary of options off the bench.

Replying To LeitrimRoyal99:  "If we had a squad injury-free you could have that starting 15. Toner, Harkin, James McEntee, Shane McEntee, Ross Ryan, Brian Conlon, Campion, Devine, Lenihan, Joey Wallace, Matt Costello, Jack O'Connor, Banty Conlon, Dardis and then maybe Mattimoe, Aaron Lynch, Oisin Reilly and maybe a young goalkeeper if they made themselves available. All of a sudden we seemed to have unearthed a pretty solid squad"
Gavin McGowan of Ratoath - best 6 in senior championship - with Harnan out he is a better option at 6 than McEntee or conlon

I think Shane McEntee is a good footballer lads who plays a hard working if unspectacular role in the team. Definitely worth place on panel. Boylan won All Ireland's with 1/2 players on each of his winning teams who were not too dissimilar to Shane McEntee.

Good side ! Harnan or Conlan at 6 ! Switch McMahon and Morris ! Hes not the answer for 11 yet ! Play him closer to goal for now ! Drop Wallace for O'Sullivan !

That's it. Look is he a certain starter ? No, is he a panel player yes definitely, he is never going to be a keoghan or menton type of player, he can fill in in half backs midfield or half forwards, I just don't like the assumption that he is only there cause he is andys son, he was on O'Dowd team previously, and while it's only a personal opinion I don't think Conlon is better than him, maybe club level but let's not forget brien has been given plenty of chances too.

Is their not a rule for concussions? Don't think O'Sullivan can train for 10 days. Or am I wrong on that ?? That's why I didn't include him.

Just wondering why you would drop Ronan Ryan ? who has been excellent all last year. A solid defender. And IMO had a good game again Sunday After Jones, and Morris. Ryan was up there in to top performers Sunday. Its hard to tell, from watching it on television. But seems like he played at 6 and was solid. He certainly didn't play 12.

Fair point. I'd happily swap him with wallace. There is really 20 lads that could arguably be all considered starters and I'm not been disrespectful to anyone not included in starting 15. And I actually think that these days it's nearly as important to finish with as strong as 15 as what started. But yes he has been very good this year

What's everyone's obsession about Division 1?. Before the league starts next year we've the little matter of a thing called The All Ireland Championship which is slightly more important than the league.

Yeah he is a good player alright but think he is committed to hurling. I think Ryan is a better option at 6 than McEntee or Conlon. Thought he played well at the weekend.

Not that I am aware of - he is a top class hurler but didn't play for the hurlers at the weekend - might be injured. But if not he should be on the panel
