Replying To 97Cavans: "Good predictions last week Drumalee11, Ironically it was Drumalee who let you down for the clean sweep.
I'll go for Gowna by 5, Mullahoran by 1, Crosserlough by 7, Ramor by 6.
Kingscourt by 12, Killygarry by 3
Ballymachugh by 1, Templeport by 1" Blinded by loyalty haha; Drumalee were terrible on the day but credit to Kill I underestimated them and they were very efficient in front of goal for a junior side.

Was at the game was very impressed by Kill. Liam McCauley a great player is he in with the county 20s? Saw him 3 times this year great speed. Drumalee would be very disappointed didn't get going at all.

Replying To drumalee11: "This weekends predictions:
Ballyhaise v Gowna - Alot to admire about Ballyhaise this year; probably deserve a handier draw than they got; produced the result of the group stages by beating Gowna by a point in round 2; they were hanging on in that game near the end though and I expect Gowna to right the wrongs of that day; it will be tight though; Gowna by 3
Cavan Gaels v Mullahoran; Mullahoran greatly improved this year and deservedly beat Cavan Gaels in the group stages; however similar to the above game I expect Cavan Gaels to have that extra steel to get over the line here; Cavan Gaels by 2
Crosserlough v Ballinagh; Not much to say here; Crosserlough by 11
Ramor v Castelrahan; Ramor favourites here; but I expect Castelrahan to put up a mammoth fight; could be last chance saloon for this team; Ramor to edge it though; Ramor by 3" Gowna x 4 Mullahorn x 1 Crosserlough x 7 Ramor x 8

That time of week again:
Intermediate Semi Finals:
Arva v Cuchullains - This is a very tough game to call; could go either way; Arva would be warm favourites but Cuchullains have reached nowhere near their potential this championship campaign and their 7 point win v Cootehill in the quarters flattered them somewhat; Arva stuttered slightly in the quarters but they may have enough to squeak over the line here; Arva by 1.
Butlersbridge v Denn - Butlersbridge have been ticking along nicely in this championship under Arva's shadow; the fact Thomas Edward Donohoe is not available for Denn swings this game for me; Denn are too good defensively not to make a game of it though but I thunk his absence will swing it in the Bridges favour; Bridge by 4.
Intermediate Relegation Ballymachugh v Templeport - Templeport look a beaten docket at this stage; they nearly pulled it off v Drumgoon the first day out and I think that was their chance; Ballymachugh have failed to win any game this championship despite some very narrow defeats; they should have enough to navigate this one though; Ballymachugh by 8.
Junior Semi Finals Belturbet v Kill - Tight game to call this one; Kill were very impressive in their quarter final win v Drumalee ; whilst Belturbet stuttered before clicking into gear in the second half versus Shannon Gaels; I think Belturbets know how and familiarity with playing at a higher level might be enough here; they know how to win tight games whilst Kill struggle in dogfights; If Kill are to win it will have to be with a bit to spare; But I reckon Belturbet by 2.
Knockbride v Redhills - Knockbride despite not impressing v the Munchies in the Quarters are still raging hot favourites for the Championship; Redhills are littered with players which have done it a higher level albeit in the twilight of their careers; they also have a sprinkling of young talent to supplement the older lads; Redhills only hope is to drag this game into a dogfight and be in the game with 5 minutes to go and Knockbride may get jittery then; but i reckon Knockbride should have too much pace and youth for the Fermanagh Border men; Knockbride by 8.
Senior Relegation Laragh v Lavey - Lavey by 2.

Great game of ball last night. Predicted the draw, delighted, great value.
Niall Carolan what a player, runs like he has four legs. It looked like he was fouled before Johnny McCabe's point.
Conal Sheridan vs Evan Doughty. These two should have 50 odds appearances for Cavan between them. Doughty in particular has that bit of magic, the pass off his right boot at the end for the final point was sublime.
Bouchier's foot passing was a feature of this game too. Hoffman kicked some nice scores.
The game probably missed a bit of needle. Refreshing to have a replay. Will be good to see these two teams go at each other again.
Think putting the game at 12.30 tomorrow is slightly disrespectful. A semi final shouldn't be on at 12.30 in my opinion. The floodlit games are much more atmospheric

Belturbet to get over the vastly improved Kill by 2/3 pts in the early fixture

Unless it takes the shackles off them altogether similar to Denn a couple years ago

Butlersbridge haven't impressed in the last few games but into the final. They will go in underdogs but have experience of winning it before. The junior final should be close enough. Belturbet a more seasoned physical team will pose a threat for knockbride.

Kill and Redhills managed 1 point each from play in there respective semi finals yesterday. Whatever about Kill they have some youth coming through Redhills are in bother and will get kicked around Divison 2 next year.

Based on 13 league and 5 championship performances, Redhills and Kill were the most improved teams in the county. Now they are terrible, based on 1 game. A game in redhills case where no player played near to their potential for whatever reason but still lost to the runaway favourites by the same score that munterconnaght lost by..and munterconnaght were lauded and multiple players on team of the week.

Redhillls were very well set up first half but the disappointing thing was they had the hard part done, going in only 1 point down at HT against a very tricky breeze.
But they totally went flat second half and Knockbride had it won inside the first 10 minutes.
Few scores at the end put a gloss on it for Redhills.
In fairness to the Munchies they had it down to a 1 point game from 6 down at start of second half and back to a 2 point game from 5 down in injury time so they probably came closer to the upset which deserves more credit.

How were this Knockbride team ever quoted as runaway favourites…? They were terrible in their last 2 matches against mediocre opposition at best… Redhills were woeful on Sunday and only stayed in the game because of Knockbrides terrible slow build up play and their refusal to widen the pitch and run Redhills out of the game…. The referees in both matches were poor imo… allowing several pile ups that resembled more like scrums in rugby than anything to do with Gaelic football… I know conditions were bad but when you have a ref throwing the ball up multiple times during a game you know he is loosing control….

In reality the Knockbride v Redhills game was atrocious.Easily the worst game in the championship. Knockbride dominated the game from start to finish but didn't put it on the scoreboard. 3 points scored in the first half against a poor Redhills team tells its own story. Knockbride seem to getting worse year on year. I would expect Belturbet to push them close. Belturbet were cruising until the Ref gave Kill a soft penalty that gave them a lifeline but Belturbet seen it out. Strange to see the Belturbet ladies manager doing linesman in that match. Denn v Butlersbridge at least was a step up in quality. Denn very unlucky not to get a draw. Probably would have got over the line if TED had of been fit to play.

Joe Dugdale has been very impressive for the Bridge. A big powerful player who is direct, turns 18 at end of year. Some of them more well know names like Caoimhin Reilly have been wasteful.

Decent odds on Ramor for this weekend. Is there anything in the "Gowna can't beat Ramor" thing?
It does seem odd to go so many years without winning a league or championship game. Even if Gowna were a poor team, it would still be strange. I can't imagine people from Gowna even go through Virginia too often
