Any thoughts on this coming weekend? 13 games, not easy to predict. Pitches are starting to get heavier which suits the teams with less legs/ more physicality. Albeit a good weekend of weather forecast.

Intermediate
Shercock v Ballymachugh...Ballymachugh by 2
Lacken v Cuchulainns... Cuchulainns by 2
Denn v Cornafean...Denn by 1
Templeport v Butlersbridge... Butlersbridge by 8
Arva v Killinkere...Killinkere by 1
Drumlane v Cootehill...Cootehill by 1
Drumgoon v Bailieborough...Bailieborough by 4

Senior
Ballinagh v Lavey...Happy to see Lavey get the win last weekend. Lots of young players. 20 odd points behind Crosserlough and yet they still never stopped running which is a good sign for their future. However, I think Ballinagh should be a bit ahead. Ballinagh by 4

Cavan Gaels v Ramor...Gaels controlled most of the Gowna game with McKiernan excellent on kick outs. Not for the first time they fell apart in the final qauter - are they tiring or bottling? Didn't get to see Ramor the last day because of some crazy scheduling, sounds like they have rode their luck but nonetheless are through unbeaten and can rest a few for this game. Gaels by 2

Crosserlough v Mullahoran...Dead rubber, both teams through. Crosserlough by 8

Castlerahan v Laragh... Expected a bit more from Castlerahan the last day, the goals kept them in it. They look like they are short on legs but they might suit the heavier pitches and damp weather come quarter final stage. Laragh are already out. Castlerahan by 6

Ballyhaise v Kingscourt... Ballyhaise on 4 but could still be caught. Hopefully they can get everyone fit for a quarter if they make it. Kingscourt need a win and should get it. Kingscourt by 3

Gowna v Killygarry... Gowna still alive. Killygarry will be dangerous, bookies don't give them much of a chance but I'd imagine this game could be close. A draw this time last year but the same result might not be enough for either team. Gowna by 1

Can someone please explain to me why the CB decided to fix the Junior Championship QF's over 3 days next weekend… starting with Knockbride/Munterconnaught on Thursday night at 8 o clock..? One game on Friday ( 8pm ) and 2 on Sunday ( 1pm /5pm )… What in Gods name is going on…? I'm sure both clubs on the Thursday will have players who are students or employees in different parts of the country who are expected back in college or work on Friday morning… There are no other fixtures of note in the county that weekend so why not make life easier for everyone and play a double header on Saturday and another Sunday…? The GAA really know how to shoot themselves in the foot

Intermediate has to be fixed yet. You know there are ways to find these things out before going on a rant on the internet.

The only game at a brutal time is the 1pm Sunday one. That's the Sunday wasted. At least with evening games, the day isn't being wasted.

I was of the opinion that the Intermediate and senior would get a weeks break similar to the junior but I must be wrong about that….

Intermediate had their weeks break between Round 3 and 4.

So they'll be out next week again

Senior break weekend is this weekend coming.

What on earth happened to Killygarry yesterday. I was getting more and more frustrated watching it so I can't imagine what it must've been like for Killygarry supporters. Gowna were dead in the water after the second goal went in. You could feel the wave of momentum in the terrace. And then Killygarry just stopped. You couldn't even say they made many mistakes, they just couldn't get on the ball. A miserable couple of years for them under Terry Hyland.
As for Gowna, they will get plaudits for coming back but for my money they should have been knocked out of the championship. They kicked some good scores into the wind in the second half.
Intermediate was fairly drab, no major shocks. It sounded like the pick of the games was Bailieborough Drumgoon. Arva flying high but yet to be tested

Year or 2 ago, lads were convinced killygarry were gonna dominate Senior.

This weekends predictions:

Arva v Bailieborough - Arva absolutely flying it; Bailieborough be happy enough to get to the quarters having spent the season in division 3; Arva by 4.

Butlersbridge v Cornafean - Bridge going too well for the Cornafean men; Bridge by 5

Denn v Shercock - Denn should have enough to navigate this despite losing to Shercock earlier in the competition; They seem to fade badly in games which will be a concern though; Denn by 2.

Cuchullains v Cootehill - Very tough game to call; Cucus might just have enough; Cucus by 2.

Knockbride v Munterconnacht - Munchies usually throw in the towel at this stage of the competition; expect a big win here; Kncokbride by 22

Kill v Drumalee - Kill started the championship strong but faded badly. Drumalee should have enough to get through this; Drumalee by 4

Redhills v Swanlinbar - Swanlinbar shipped a heavy defeat to Knockbride last day out but I expect them to pick themselves up for this game; Redhills greater experience might be enough but could go either way; Redhills by 1.

Shannon Gaels v Belturbet; Shannon Gaels unbeaten in the championship so far despite not setting the world alight; they are doing extremely well to stay competitive with the turnover of players they have; I except Belturbet to have too much though especially with McLoughlin not fully fit; Belturbet by 4.

Well like, they have talented players, they got to a final 2 years ago, probably really should have put out the reigning double Champions on Sunday, and had a tough enough draw overall last 3 games. For a club with no real pedigree at this level, they are still figuring it out a bit. They could do with a bit of nous like some of the longer standing Senior clubs alright. Like they've the emans to get there and with the growing population and young players they have, they are far more likely to. Going from zero to domination probably not going to happen, but will be here to stay and will take titles down the line

Just discussing Killygarry at work today - out of curiosity when was the last time a Killygarry man managed the senior team, not trained but managed? Probably a question for someone from Killygarry but it must have been a long time ago I would have thought.

I would have coached against Killygarry at underage level maybe 15/16 years ago and was always very impressed with their coaches. I always wondered why I never came across any of their names on a programme for the seniors. You would wonder is there much value in forking out big money to these outside coaches instead of going with your own. Killygarry are not the only club obviously.

This weekends predictions:

Ballyhaise v Gowna - Alot to admire about Ballyhaise this year; probably deserve a handier draw than they got; produced the result of the group stages by beating Gowna by a point in round 2; they were hanging on in that game near the end though and I expect Gowna to right the wrongs of that day; it will be tight though; Gowna by 3

Cavan Gaels v Mullahoran; Mullahoran greatly improved this year and deservedly beat Cavan Gaels in the group stages; however similar to the above game I expect Cavan Gaels to have that extra steel to get over the line here; Cavan Gaels by 2

Crosserlough v Ballinagh; Not much to say here; Crosserlough by 11

Ramor v Castelrahan; Ramor favourites here; but I expect Castelrahan to put up a mammoth fight; could be last chance saloon for this team; Ramor to edge it though; Ramor by 3

Good predictions last week Drumalee11, Ironically it was Drumalee who let you down for the clean sweep.

I'll go for Gowna by 5, Mullahoran by 1, Crosserlough by 7, Ramor by 6.

Kingscourt by 12, Killygarry by 3

Ballymachugh by 1, Templeport by 1
