Saturday week’s All-Ireland SHC semi-final between Cork and Dublin at Croke Park is set to be an 82,300 sellout.
Tickets for the hotly-anticipated last-four clash sold out on the Ticketmaster website in just two hours yesterday afternoon, despite the recent €5 hike in stand ticket prices to €60. Tickets also went on general sale for the second semi-final on Sunday week between Kilkenny and Tipperary, with demand nothing like the Cork-Dublin tie.
Cork’s last eight championship matches going back to last year’s epic All-Ireland SHC semi-final against Limerick have all been sellouts, while interest in the Dublin hurlers has soared following their sensational quarter-final victory over Limerick last Saturday.
When the counties last met in an All-Ireland SHC semi-final in 2013, the attendance at Croke Park was 62,092.
