Scotstown issued an appeal to their supporters to behave respectfully before yesterday’s Monaghan SFC final victory over Clontibret at Clones.
County star Jack McCarron’s 39th minute goal helped the holders to their 23rd Mick Duffy Cup triumph on a day when the famous club also claimed MFC Division 1 honours at Monaghan Harps’ expense.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, the club said: Scotstown GAA have unfortunately noted that there has been some inappropriate behaviour by supporters behind the goals at recent games. We are asking that all our supporters show respect to our club and our club colours by avoiding such circumstances this weekend.
“Instead, we want all our supporters to be together in the stand on Sunday afternoon, where as a collective we can make our voices heard and support the lads on the pitch.”
