But i'm sure he's reached out to most of those likely to be involved already and they are working on fitness and S&C plans. As for a final squad I'm not sure if or when that might come out. I know there was an initial 40/41 player squad made available early last season. Article from Examiner here https://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/arid-40284017.html

I don't think he plans to bring anyone else is. Think Nally, McCloskey, Paul Nestor and Mark/Marcus Brennan are all there so that's likely enough?? And Niall Ronan as your S&C guy."
Are you one of the 8 Brian ?

I'm an ordinary Joe soap so most definitely not part of the 8

"CHANGE"of management ???? I wonder is this the correct heading now. Some people left, and others came in to the management team I wonder what was the rationale. Was is just about the availability of people who were willing to "give it a go" or was it done in order to attempt to repair the well publihised and proven shortcomings of management particularily over the last 3 years. If the changes in personnel are intended to bring the required skillsets of coaching football basic skills fielding freetaking etc etc that would have merit... If on the other hand changes are just about the availability of any Joe Soap .well then we get what we settle for more of the same at best
Because of the MESS created by not even conducting a proper review in a timely manner i find it very difficult to see much grounds for optimism.

Not sure what you're trying to imply but I'm a long time poster on here. I used to post on here back when there was no post counter and we'd great posters like Ard Ri and the great North Meath Man. But whatever floats your boat.

Have to say Brian - you are one of the most balanced posters on HS, whether it be on the main forum defending Dublin (to a certain extent... ;o) ) from those trolls down south, or your posts on the Cavan Forum, or on here.

Always enjoy reading your non biased posts.

Keep it up - good man,

On the Meath Mgt - Andy is with you for another year but I cant see him being there this time next year.
He messed up with not getting Promoted this year, simple as.
That is a minimum requirement next season imo.
Yes, he has steadied the ship and brought a lot of pride back in the meath jersey but did he actually improve meath this year - I personally dont think so. Ye played well in the 2nd half v Dubs, but we were on the ropes all season for the reasons I have previously posted about.

The timing of the vote and reasoning behind it , left a lot to be desired but ye need to move on and step it up next year. He will be under enormous pressure to get meath promoted, so time will tell.
However, I think if the vote was done a couple of months back - I think he would have been voted out by the clubs....

Look, county boards dont always do things in the correct manner - just look at how Jack O'Connor got the kerry job a few weeks ago. Peter Keane was very badly treated imo.
But there had to be something behind that original vote to oust Andy. It is sure to come out eventually.

Up to him to prove the doubters wrong next year. Going to be a tough ask, but not an impossible one....

Anyway, keep up the good posts Brian...

Cheers Fionn, your kind words are much appreciated. I always try and balance what I'm saying and can sometimes go too far but look we all have our own opinions and if we all agreed sure we'd have no craic ;)

Think you make some good points as an outsider looking in and will be an interesting 2022 of nothing else ;)
