The curtain came down of the Meath GAA football season with three Under 19 Championship finals at Dunganny on Saturday.
Round up
A second half goal from Dean Carroll set Clonard/Ballinabrackey on the road to a four point win over Kilmainhamwood in the first of three finals on Saturday at Dunganny. The ‘Wood’ led 0-11 to 0-9 at the break.
Dunshaughlin proved too strong for St. Ultans Cortown Gaels in the Division 4 decider. Playing with the wind the Black and Ambers led 2-8 to 0-1 at half time.
A strong second half was central to Walterstown’s five point win over Clann na nGael in what was the last club football game of the season. Ollie Maloney’s goal at the end of the third quarter proved crucial.
Carnaross had two points to spare over St. Mary's in the Division 5 final. At one stage in the second half the winners held a 14 point advantage but had to withstand a Donore fightback to claim the title at a wet and windy Dunganny.
Captained by Ciaran McCormack, favourites Dunboyne took home the Joey McKeown Cup after their eight point win over St. Pats in the Division 1 final. John Delaney’s charges worked up a 1-9 to 0-5 half time lead with Cillian Felle getting the games only goal.
Goals from Harry Butler and Liam Devine proved crucial as Gaeil Colmcile claimed the Larry Kearns Cup for the second year in a row.
