Roscommon giants Padraig Pearses have installed Niall Murray as their new senior football manager.

The Moore native takes over from Frank Canning, who had been in charge for the last three years. Canning led Pearses to Fahey Cup success in 2024, but they were dethroned by local rivals St Brigid's after losing this year's county final after a replay.

Murray has been involved in coaching at every level in the club, having served as senior team coach during Pat Flanagan’s tenure from 2018 to 2022.

"We wish Niall the very best of luck in the role and thank everybody involved in the selection process over recent weeks,” Pearses said in a social media post.
