The fifth minute of the second half saw Slane extend their advantage to six points. It was down to a three point game in the eleventh minute once again when Flynn broke through the Slane defence and rattled the net.

Slane managed an insurance point which meant they were still ahead when Flynn found the net again five minutes later. Recovering well, the hosts added seven points in the following ten minutes, leaving them very much in control of the game.

Forde added his side’s only point of the half in the twenty-sixth minute but the game was over as a contest at this stage. The home side put another two scores on the board and ran out as comfortable winners.
