It was indeed missed a few frees towards the end

I havent watched the game back, havent had time and tbh I might not anyway as Ive no connection to either club. But in real time it looked to me Portaferry went toe to toe with Slaughtneil for the first 40-45 minutes. Tracked Slaughtneils runners, suffocated them for space in the middle 3rd, and got 2 or 3 lads around every breaking ball in the Slaughtneil half. They would have studied the Cushendall v Slaughtneil game closely. The 2 goals were created by loose untracked players on overlaps. If Ferry had of been fit enough to do what they did in the first 2/3rds of the game for the whole game then those goals wouldn't have been scored and they would have won yesterday by more than a few points. Credit to Slaughtneil also, they didn't throw in the towel, or resort to long aimless ball into the square. They stuck to what they know, trusted it, and reaped the rewards. Was another great game of hurling up North for sure. Shame there's not more clubs playing it up there, those that are are as good as clubs anywhere else in the country.

Both teams would hold their own in any of the top counties. Great achievement to maintain such a standard given the much smaller numbers of clubs involved in Derry and Down at senior. Antrim have done that in isolation almost for generations so great to see.
