Watching match referee brough ball up 50 meters the ulster player bumped into John Maher he gave it for Maher not moving away it's like rugby now that is definitely one rule that can't come in image a club match they be uproar , they way Marty snd Eamon are cometary u woukd think these new rules are best thing ever it's a glorified practice match with nothing a stake wait until league starts

It's good stuff, a massive improvement. Why is Marty Morrissey whinging so much about handpassing? There's way more use of the boot in this game, and anyway no one minds handpassing when it's generally heading vertically as opposed to laterally.

I don't like the rule where a player can call a mark but play on, take a shot, but if the shot is saved it goes back to the original mark and he gets a free shot again. If you've played on and got a shot away that should be advantage over.

Exciting finish. The last minute and a half was very dramatic. I like the dynamic of teams having to "work" a 2 pointer near the end if they're 2 down.

That's the one rule I don't like but most of the rest worked well but it was only a practice match with no real bite… Handing the ball back is real juvenile stuff… why not just place it on the ground…? It would make more sense… overall a great final..!

Enjoyable but I tell ya.. Mayo are In trouble as they'll have so many lads trying the 2 pointers and they'll all drop short..
Majority of their scorers are close in tap overs...
Boland and Touhy had shocking late efforts there tonight..
Thankfully Johnny Heaney nailed his two

Very enjoyable game and gives the cttee something to work on.
I doubt if they expected the keeper to be sp prominent up the field but most keepers are not as fit as Morgan.
The arc will be impossible to monitor.
The Throw in favours the team whose player is contesting the throw in and facing the sideline where his team mate is.
That's for starters

New or old rules I'll never warm to penalty shootout to decide a GAA match. Our lads poor at penalties doesn't help my feelings on it either.

It can be trying listening to a high infants adjudicators but let us be charitable they on only parrot what they hear at home.What we watched for 2 nights will have very little comparison to what will result after congress decides changes and competitive games.Wait and see what is the final outcome is before making assumptions based on maybe's.

Exciting when you use the stop clock. Though the time keeping worked well.

As per my most recent post on Galway thread I had high hopes for the new rules. I am a long term season ticket holder and have been around this forum from the start but all I can say is that if this format goes ahead I have watched and attended my last game. It is absolute tripe . Football was really really bad in recent seasons but this has made it 10 times worse. It is dire altogether.

Not sure the throw in is an issue as you say but if so first half, second half can be alternated if it isn't already.

Penalties were comicically bad. Getting rid of them would be a definite "advancement."
