I decided to have a pop at picking the best 15. With a huge game left some players will make a late claim and others will fall away. I don't expect people to agree with my selection so if you are saying player X should be on the team then by all means include him but someone has to be dropped.

(4) Dylan MC Hugh
(5) Barry MC Cambridge

Mistake straight away. Kilkenny gets replaced by John Maher. Not sure how I forgot him

Craig Lennon from Louth. He might even pip Sam Mulroy for an all star. Donal Mc Kenny also from Louth deserves a mention.

finally some one picks a good all star team.
nice mixture between all counties too which is something they have been looking for over the previous years rightly or wrongly. I would just have mcgrath over Glynn at corner back
people who don t have conroy in their team need to give their heads a wobble, only player in top 10 of top scorers from play who isn't a forward.

Ollie….. All-Stars are usually made up of players who compete in the latter stages of the Championship ie SF or Final… It's seldom players from outside those 4 get a look in but it can happen..!

That's very true. Last year Enda Smith from Roscommon was the only player who received an all star whose county did not make the last four. Before that it was Michael Murphy from Donegal in 2019.

Nicky Quaid is still the best in my book.

I would love to see Sam Mulroy get an All Star as he is a fabulous player…

After the thrilling final today, could people make an effort of picking what they think might be an all star team??I'll make one controversial decision,I expect Kelly to get one after today but over the course of the year don't think he deserves it..Shane o Donnell hurler of the year..Adam hogan young hurler..from limerick perspective I'd only seriously pick Nicky quaid but I'll be surprised if Collins doesn't get it..for me it's a very hard team to pick..

I've lost all interest in all stars since Cork got a sum total of zero all stars in 2021, despite reaching all Ireland final . Team was picked from one game, so to me is a total bull**** exercise. Great game today, well done to Clare, but referee missed tug on O' Flynn's jersey at the death. A draw would have been a fair result. It is what it is, great game with some superb individual performances, and remains to be seen if Cork can recover from what must be an extremely tough loss! Well done to both teams for serving up a classic!

Not a bad effort. I could nit pick over a few of your suggestions, But I like your spread . Although I doubt if the All Ireland finalist will only have 8 between them if recent years anything to by. Average over last 10 years has been close to 11 ( which is far too many in my opinion). Maybe this year they will spread it around more especially as both semis , and some earlier games, were extremely close affairs

We need to be setting a good example to the youth playing the games.

I have referenced recency bias in All Star teams , but the hurling team of the year takes the biscuit. I know it was a brilliant final and the selectors probably got sucked in by the euphoria of it. But I would hope the All Star team has a bit more balance that the team of the Year. 7 Clare , 6 Cork , 2 Limerick. 0 Kilkenny ( beaten semi finalist) , 0 from any county who did not make semis. Dont get me wrong I have no problem with any of the individuals selected. But 7 selected from a team who were beaten twice, 6 from a team that were beaten 3 times. Its not as if these 3 teams were miles ahead of everybody else. Clare got over Kilkenny by 2 ( a Kilkenny team that drew twice in Leinster and won 1 game by a point) , Cork lost to Waterford.
I will be saying the same thing next week if there is similar dominance of the team of the year by Armagh and Galway.
