McGeeney and Joyce are great mates with massive respect between them. The sight of the 2 of them yarning away on the pitch was brilliant. As I say I would love to see Armagh winning but Galway are a cracking side with 6 very good forwards who I fear could expose Armagh badly and score goals. Galway by 4 at least. Galway have a great half forward line. And this advantage needs to be utilized by them. If it happens Galway will win by 2 or 3 points. If Armagh win midfield, and get goals, they will win. Great to see a non Dubs/Kerry final. galwayford (Galway) - Posts: 2565 - 28/07/2024 15:26:03 2562151 Link 0 |
Both cancelled each other out so far jimbodub (Dublin) - Posts: 20687 - 28/07/2024 16:12:58 2562152 Link 0 |
Losing Finnerty a blow. Walsh having a poor game with the frees. Galway score when they move ball fast. Can they improve. Hope so. Not looking great though. Gaillimh abú galwayford (Galway) - Posts: 2565 - 28/07/2024 16:16:01 2562154 Link 0 |
Half time…. A woeful spectacle.. It can only improve.. Lads can't even kick handy frees and marks over the bar… basic skills.. Hopefully the 2nd half is a huge improvement ForeverBlue2 (Cavan) - Posts: 3025 - 28/07/2024 16:17:05 2562155 Link 0 |
The irony

The Armagh goal, did Campbell mean to square the ball or it was point effort that turned out to be a good pass. Opening 20 minutes of the 2nd half better than the 1st half. Gaa_lover (USA) - Posts: 3487 - 28/07/2024 16:48:12 2562158 Link 0 |
... Armaghs long distance score taking today has been exceptional jimbodub (Dublin) - Posts: 20687 - 28/07/2024 16:57:06 2562161 Link 1 |

Poor standard for an AI final, but delighted for McGeeney. An in form Shane Walsh probably would have won it for the tribesmen. Congratulations Armagh, hard luck Galway. realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8678 - 28/07/2024 17:10:21 2562168 Link 1 |

A deserved win for Armagh… Galway resorted to pot shots and didn't keep the head.. Let there be no more talk about Damien Comer as a top class forward…. ForeverBlue2 (Cavan) - Posts: 3025 - 28/07/2024 17:13:50 2562174 Link 1 |

Galway didn't really get in to it and Armagh marshalled them superbly. Galway's star players didn't show up. A few soft frees against Galway but that didn't cost them the game. Better team won. Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9785 - 28/07/2024 17:15:35 2562176 Link 1 |
A final far from classic more errors than quality on show but exciting finish. Congrats to Armagh they are example to any county in rush to get rid of their manager Gaa_lover (USA) - Posts: 3487 - 28/07/2024 17:15:41 2562177 Link 0 |
Really hard luck to Galway but congrats Armagh. Great supporters. MachaireConnacht (Roscommon) - Posts: 999 - 28/07/2024 17:21:08 2562184 Link 1 |
I'd say the reason McGeeney is there for as long as he is is down to how well he is regarded by the players. They will do anything for him. Any intercounter manager should look at his example to inspire players.
