Ah come on considering how mixed their form has been all tournament and they actually won a penalty shootout scoring all goals it is quite extraordinary. They're doing something many of the English sides that went before them could only dream of

Now that I think about it the other Semi Final has England and Netherlands written allover it, but could the Turks and Swiss bring them to extra time.........hmmmmm double draw!!"
One down and everything hanging on the Turks.....who at the moment are playing very good!

Are you kidding......beating Switzerland is something other England teams dreamt about?......nonsense. England beating Switzerland at soccer is not remotely extraordinary any day of the week. In the Davis Cup maybe if Federer is fielding, or at downhill skiing perhaps, but at soccer, not extraordinary no.

It's not really in the slightest bit extraordinary. Spain are the only team to have looked anyway impressive in this tournament so far, in my opinion anyways, and as soon as the second round draw was made there was always a lukewarm chance of England getting to the final, let alone semi final.

They've played poorly all tournament. Actually won a penalty ahootout which they've a very poor historical record in. They've been poor and even with good draw they've had they've scrapped through. Which is very un England like if going by some of their previous tournaments
It is extraordinary if you look at it like that

It's not extraordinary. They were in the 2021 euro final, the world cup semi in Russia in 2018, and only bet by then world champions France in a quarterfinal at the recent 2022 Qatar World cup. That's not a record that lends itself to an evaluation that their progression to the current euro semi final is in any way extraordinary, especially beating sides like Slovakia and Switzerland en route. Form is temporary, class is permanent.

Kane needs to be dropped too obviously.

If you're so consumed with their current form, why don't you accept their current form on penalty shootouts, rather than scrambling back historically for shootout skeletons, just to suit an argument that doesn't hold water.

England were unbeaten in their previous 13 internationals v Switzerland heading into yesterday, and yet you're here saying their progress yesterday was extraordinary.

They have played badly but so have everyone else really bar Spain. Of the 4 teams left all whoevers left has to do is manage to put a couple of decent performances together avd they'll likely win it.

Lost interest in the Euros now....4 horrible teams left, didn't want any of those remaining 4 to win it.

Replying To Galway9801:  "Must say the negative commentary towards England is getting a bit cringe at this stage,,sure, they're the old enemy, but it feels like it's just becoming an unhealthy addiction at this stage.

They occupy far more space in our heads than we do theirs.

They'll probably make the final now."
I couldn't agree more . The Irish media is obsessed with them and comes across as very bitter which is never a good look.

I've lived in England since 2017 and to be honest I couldn't say a bad word about them and I would have had plenty to say about them ten years ago! Many people in Ireland have a distorted view of the average English man or woman. I was in a local pub watching the rugby World Cup last year and the whole pub was cheering on Ireland.

My mother said the same, she loved her time in England.
Also this whole thing about irish fans saying "if England win we'll never hear the end of it" while two seconds later rambling about a singular goal Ray Houghton scored 36 years ago.
Alot of silliness about the whole thing.

I thought South Africa 2010 would never be topped for the worst tournament I've ever seen, Euro 2024 is miles ahead in that respect.
Too many players flogged to death, playing half fit, boring keep ball tactics without taking the risk of losing possession. Top flight football has become very dull in the last 10 years. Wide players are virtually extinct, no one is encouraged to go past players, rather cut inside and pass sideways or go back to the centre halfs/goalkeeper.
Spain are lauded for being the best team in the tournament, they don't even have a striker, just Morata as a false 9, which tells you everything about the "excitement".
I also notice a distinct lack of passion from more and more players, there's a few warriors left but they are dwindling.
P.s Kylian Mbappe will be shown up for the fraud he is in la liga, a complete blagger.

Horrible can't stand them, tippy tappy football bore you to death once they go 1-0 up and also they are very sly, sneeky and senicle.
That's it once Italy, Germany or Portugal or an underdog couldn't win it I was done.
Take our pick out of France, Spain, England or Netherlands......Horrible choice

Jaysus it's just a football thing, it's a bit of craic. Sure we'll be hooking up with them when we leave the EU, The United Kingdom of Ireland and Great Britain. Hurrah :D

What other country in the World would support a country that occupies a part of its territory and occupied all of it for over 750 years??
