Hopefully one of the terrestial stations wins the rights."
Hopefully they don't end up splitting rights between multiple providers
So you will need multiple subscriptions
As an overseas viewer I love that fact that one GAAGO sub means I can watch all games, pretty much anywhere in the world, except in some cases Ireland ( I travel for work 3-4 times a year)
I get the competition argument but GAAGO and streaming is a godsend. I remember when you used to have to go to a pub on a Sunday morning, pay $20 to watch a game. With family commitments now without streaming I would hardly ever watch a game. And the annual sub is great value.

"Virgin Media Television are delighted to announce a partnership with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the upcoming season We will broadcast three of the Steelers pre-season games starting this Friday night. Plus, the Mike Tomlin Show will air across the NFL season"

These games were on GAAGo last season

They have hosted GAA in the past. Can't see a reason they can't do it again

Last time round, Virgin Media said they'd only be interested in live GAA if they could buy a "ready to air" package - i.e. they'd be sent the signal, so they'd only have to press the button to show it, and provide commentators and pundits. Basically the way RTE operates with the Olympics or other major international events.

Virgin Media had no interest in having to provide cameras and Outside Broadcast crews and all the rest themselves. It would take a major change in thinking for them to be a real runner this time.

How are they covering LOI??

Parkinson not always the most reliable and a man who likes to burn bridges with previous employers, mentioned they messed him around having a smallerfish show on virgin.

He did 1 episode last year and they wouldn't provide him with enough cameras to film piece with paudi Clifford

I don't know how they're covering LOI, and to be frank, I didn't even know they're covering it, as I've little or no interest in soccer.

If they're doing it the "ordinary" way by sending out their own cameras and crews, then maybe they've had that change of heart regarding sports coverage after all, and that might bring them back into the mix for GAA matches. But what I said was definitely the sticking point with them the last time.
