Looking at Galway and Armagh in Sligo recently, you'd wonder about your 'flare' theory.

"Take a break." Chasing losses with doubles is bad news. No to mention you demoralising both teams you picked if they find out :-) BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3123 - 14/07/2024 21:08:37 2559115 Link 2 |
Always glass half empty with some people. No two games are the same and we don't want them to be.

I didn't wonder anything. Compare the 2 games. Night and day. Glensboy (Antrim) - Posts: 311 - 14/07/2024 22:57:29 2559150 Link 0 |

I read Jim was unhappy with some of the refereeing calls and that his team ran out of steam. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 3983 - 15/07/2024 08:48:28 2559187 Link 0 |
I think donegal will have a great year next year.

Yeah we lacked a wee bit of composure at crucial moments. But in fairness to Galway they were very organised and very disciplined. They weren't giving any handy scores away around the D, so when our lads did take on shots second half, they were from awkward positions. Couple that with time running out and tiring bodies, the shot efficiency inevitably diminishes. I think we'll get the heads down now over the winter. There is a lot of time for soul searching and hopefully finding a few attacking options from the upcoming club championships. Noone has any divine right to be winning All Irelands no matter who they're managed by. But Jim has definitely restored a bit of pride and a bit of bite after what was a dismal 2023. Galway - Armagh will be a ripper of a final. There's not much love lost between them, and they played out an absolute epic in 2022. I really hope both sides have the full deck to choose from. It promises to be a great occasion. All the best to both teams involved. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9519 - 15/07/2024 16:17:28 2559335 Link 3 |
Unlucky yesterday Lockjaw but balls into keeper's arms destroys all teams. Donegal had a big year compared to this time last year but it could have been better.

Not sure about 70% but yeah feel like Armagh have reached their peak v Kerry whereas Galway have another gear to kick to.

40% me hole. We were at the pin of our collar to bate Mayo, as usual. A beautiful win.

Yeah they're a killer alright. I've been trying not to consider the Ifs and Buts, but.... :D even if we'd landed one of those, and then Gallen's free..... ah look I'm only torturing myself here! The Championship in 2025 will be brilliant There'll be a novel new champion to dethrone in Galway/Armagh Dublin/Kerry will always be there or thereabouts Then you have a clutch of other teams like Donegal, Tyrone, Derry and Mayo who'll fancy a good cut as well. Time for a fresh voice in the Tyrone hot seat ye reckon? Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9519 - 19/07/2024 15:15:42 2560089 Link 0 |
No doubt, someone along with Stevie O Neill and Enda Mc Ginley who talks a lot of sensible football talk. There's 10 teams in the mix next year so football is far from dead .
