Yes, Limerick have swept all before them, and the other counties in Munster will be eager to dethrone them. Competition is what it's all about. Kiely I would think, will take every game as it comes and 5 in a row talk will be put on back burner. He will use the defeat at the weekend to a very impressive Kilkenny team as a wake up call. Let the games begin!

Yes like last year i think the munster championship is going to be extremely tight and some great matches in store. Kiely will be happy enough with where limerick are currently and they are a week to week team. They'll go to ennis now slightly under the radar if that's possible for what they're going for. They know every team will give that bit extra against them and most countys at this stage would love to see a new champion. But champions do die hard.

I was in Limerick the week before that game and what you said was very much the opposite. Like I said very easy to claim you were worried about something after the fact. I never said it was 70 years though. You're now talking about the big 3 again when I few posts back you were dismissing Tipp. oneoff (UK) - Posts: 1472 - 29/03/2024 12:14:23 2534444 Link 0 |
Good man, Viking! Let no one put you down on this forum. You've been a fine poster for many is the year now. foreveryoung (USA) - Posts: 2095 - 29/03/2024 12:17:38 2534446 Link 1 |
Not quite! Are Cork in the 3 main challengers list? I thought that would be Clare, Kilkenny and Galway. Anyway, it's a mute point, and posters like "forever young"are not relevant to any constructive discussion. Let's hope we have another feisty and competitive Munster championship, which is what everyone wants!

So much for headin go off to warmer climes. Best of luck to our Boys In Green! PatOLogical (Limerick) - Posts: 1377 - 29/03/2024 13:35:24 2534456 Link 0 |
I see snow in the Kerry hills today by Mount Brandon. Good time to head off.

My eldest sons godfather is down in Cork. I've many friends down there. And as I've posted many times on different threads I think the next county to win the AI after Limerick will be Cork. Just not this year, or maybe not next either. If they are getting upset over what a complete stranger from 100 miles away is posting on an anonymous forum maybe therapy of some sort is called for;-)

Hopefully it will be Ryanteam. And no I wasn't including Cork in that this year.

Doubt if anyone gets upset over forum posts. The players and team managers are the important bits… anyway 3 weeks to championship and all to play for. Happy Easter and Bye for now!

Replying To Viking66: "Limerick never went 70 years without winning one either." OK my mistake winning one in 70 odd years. How are you going to try and spin that? Bring up how many Munster semi-finals they were in? oneoff (UK) - Posts: 1376 - 27/03/2024 13:37:32 You did say it was 70 years. "Historical big 3" includes Tipp. When I was born they were tied most for AIs with Cork on 21, and that year increased their total to 22. The point I was making in the other post is that since that year they are tied with Limerick, only have 2 more than Galway, and 3 more than Clare. So not in the same League as Cork and Kilkenny, the big 2. Btw that's hardly dismissing Tipp, merely stating a fact, and they have 6 times as many AIs in my lifetime as we have. What part of Limerick were you in? None of the parts I go to obviously. Were you hanging out with real hurling people or a bunch of bandwaggoners inside in the City? Toomey, Roche, Kingston all named in the replacements on that team.

Only thing to stop limerick is a gruelling Munster championship and suffer injuries to key players. They might be vulnerable in an AI semi final. 2maroonjerseys (Galway) - Posts: 96 - 29/03/2024 15:33:54 2534492 Link 0 |

Fair play to both fathers. Not an easy thing to do, I imagine.

If Cork can add goals consistently to their game they'll be in with a serious shout.....I don't think this limerick team are done yet in terms of all irelands, not sure if the next one they'll win will be this year though
