Statement made with that second half performance. I could go on but I've said it all before.
I want to say one thing today. I want to tip my hat to Ronan Maher. He's the Tipp captain. He's a proud hurling man from a proud hurling family. They were being well beaten. He was involved with the casey injury. A complete accident. But the care he showed to his competitor today was a class above. Barry hogan also and the tipperary doctor too. As I've said this is their hobby. They are working in the morning. It's everything to them as it's everything to us. Rivalries aside Ronan Maher showed today like many other days in a different context what it is to captain your county.

Poor Peter, a stomach churning injury and very sad to see him in such instant pain on the pitch.
He will be a massive loss to Limerick this year, but let's hope he can recover to full health and take to the pitch again in 2025.

I would like to wish Peter Casey the best in his recovery. It was a bad injury, just shows that sport is just a game, serious injuries put things in perspective.
Limerick were totally dominant yesterday, they look capable of winning 5 in a row on that performance.

Best wishes to Peter Casey going forward. Very tough on any sportsperson to get a serious injury playing a game.
Confirmed by Limerick Gaa a little while ago that he broke his ankle and will require surgery in next few days.
Hope things go well for him and that we will get to see him back playing for limerick again in the future.

I was there yesterday, saw it happen. Was a horrible injury for the poor guy, who was in terrible pain and there is no reason to have a photo of it up here. Bit of cop on needed HS.

i have to say as a limerick man first and foremost, as a father of two hurling sons and as a hurling man . the out pouring of sympathy and the best wishes to peter casey is uplifting... from counties all over the country. a great post comes from clooney in clare his post sums it all up . speedy recovery peter your artistry will be sorely missed.

Cork Limerick game will be fascinating. I know mathematically Cork could lose and still qualify on 2 points (if Waterford lose all 3 games, Tipp only beat Waterford) but thats highly unlikely so Cork have to win
Cork have the talent to beat anybody in a one off game, and will have nothing to lose, and there will be a huge crowd behind them.
Limerick are probably already through but will want to win Munster and avoid a QF, and will also want to keep Cork down for as long as they can and put them out. They are the coming team with all the underage talent but just haven't found a way to play consistently for an entire game. When they were in full flow v Clare they looked unbeatable but then a few minutes later lost the initiative and looked poor in the back. When Limerick chose to play Tipp in Cork in the League I think management had this fixture in mind. A Cork win could be a sign of a change at the top, even if not this year but for the future.
If Cork had Nicky Quaid in goals they would be a different team - Collins has been around a long time but is only an OK shot stopper and inconsistent with puck outs. Hard to believe Cork dont have somebody coming up that is ready to be thrown in.
Limerick in a good place, but have a big decision on who to bring in for Casey. Flanagan has been average for a while now, and Casey added a lot of zip v Tipp. Sad that his year is now run. They will likely want to keep O'Dalaigh as an impact sub but could he start? Cant imagine O'Donovan even if he is fit is match ready and I am sure they will want to start him as a sub (if ready). Cork forwards are dangerous so they wont want to move Hayes up.

The hard lifting is dine and they are getting into the GGs now on a consistent basis. They have loads of options available and cork will be a good test as always down there

A Waterford win against Tipp on sat evening will almost certainly put Cork out so they may have little to play for against Limk only pride. Waterford will have 4 points and have the head to head over Cork. There only hope would be were 3 teams finish on 4 points and rely on scoring difference. A Tipp win would keep their hopes alive.

They may still go on to win it, but don't underestimate how big a loss Casey is, O Dalaigh is very good but has never played in an Ireland senior final yet for limerick.

Much more than O Dalaigh, I think Adam English has the ability to step up and take the opportunity on offer.. He's an incredible hurler with an eye for goal.. He could in for a big summer.
