Replying To Dealer:  "Reidy is a very unusual example. He went to Kildare and got back in after leaving the squad entirely. A lot depends on Michael's club form in championship but he's a very hard road. The way that the Limerick panel works at least to me is that the top 26 are nailed on and the remaining 10 are the development prospects. If you're in that bunch for a few years and you're still not cracking the championship squad, then your exposed to the new annual intake of fresh young talent who deserve the opportunity. If you get passed out - you won't last.

Interco senior is a tough game and that starts with panel development. JK won't want to retire and leave a massive player vacuum behind him if he can help it."
Some lads blossom later. Maybe don't put the work in in their late teens early 20s, live a little and travel a bit, and really go back hard at hurling when they are 24/25, when they are naturally physically better built.

Plenty young forwards on the up in limerick, would expect Adam English ,Shane o Brien ,Aidan o connor ,paddy Donovan along with Cathal o neill to challenge strongly for places in forward positions in next year or 2.

Great weekend of Club Hurling in Limerick , Good starts for for Patrickswell, Kilmalock , Ahane, Mungret,Adare & Ballybrown in the senior. In other grades Na Piarsaigh B, Granagh Ballingarry ,Feohanagh, Caherline & Old Christians had notable wins in this weekends 28 matchs .
Well done to who ever produces the weekend programme book that had the 56 teams from 47 clubs listed ( 9 clubs had 2 teams in action ) . There are close on 1700 players names in the programme book for the various clubs which is the pool John Kiely is picking from . Roll on next weekend games.

Great weekend of club hurling and it was great to see our Limerick stars, giving time to the young fans before and after the games.

Does anyone know why Bruff pitch no longer gets many games?

Kilmallock v Doon.
HH v Bruree

Had 2 matches last weekend.

Depending on the pitch that's probably plenty considering the wet weather????

There are an awful lot more venues that can accommodate matches now than in the past. Geographically makes sense to send clubs to other venues. Kilmallock will always get more due to 2 stands and seated areas for kids

Yes indeed. Admittedly - Bruff were never overly concerned with improving the spectator facilities there.

Big result for Doon alright.. Be interested in seeing how Kildimo /Pallas get on tonight.. Ahane would have been the game they were targeting so can't really see them getting a result against NaP.

Senior - Doons 2 point win over Patrickswell was the big result this weekend in Top Senior group with Kilmallock making it 2 out of 2 and Na Piarsaigh beating Kildimo also. In Second Group Ballybrown & Adare look to be the two teams most people fancy to come out and played out an entertaining draw although Monaleen , Mungret & Garryspillane are well in the mix, South Liberties look under pressure.
In the other grades Bruff are the only team in premier Inter with 3 wins out of 3 whilst Effin & NCW had important wins. Granagh Ballingarry are the team in form in Intermediate and themselves & Croagh look good to top their groups with Bruree & Murroe the main threats. Feenagh Kilmeedys landslide win over Kileedy & St Patricks win over Castletown were the eye catching results in Junior A matchs .

Ominously Kilkenny won the u16A beating us by a goal, though we had some key injuries. And they beat Galway in the u16B final by 17 points.
