He stressed the point that S and C takes years. Interesting he was a late starter at it. 19 years old. But being 6ft5 was a good starting point!!!

Replying To Past hurler:  "The hurling only clubs Rathnure, Buffers Alley or Oulart have not had a starter on the Wexford team this last few years.

The town teams like Harriers, Naomh Eanna and the Rapps and then Conor Devitt and Matt O Hanlon are well represented and I often wonder has the high fitness levels and tactics from club football helped these lads play the running game that especially Davy Fitz wanted whereby you run non stop and overlap for 70mins like in football.

Wexford hurlers would play as close to a football team as I've seen. Lots of handpassing and running.

Clare Football man Paul Kinnerk would be the same with Limerick, bringing an ex county footballer like Gearoid Hegarty into the set-up and turning him into one of the best hurlers out there at the minute."
Kinnerk is a former Limerick footballer.

Don't know if it was poster here but Brendan Furlong is saying that Liam Ryan is out for the rest of the league. Chin, ROC, MOH, and Kevin Foley all trained last Sunday morning although they might not necessarily be ready for the Cork game. Also said that Paudie Foley is not coming back for the summer, and that Joe O'Connor, Joe Coleman, Conor Firman, Kyle Firman, Josh Shiel, Cian Browne, Tomás Kinsella, and Eoin Murphy have all been dropped from the panel.

Replying To Wexfordgaa:  "I think the most worrying thing is new Ross. Hurling and football is now third and a good friend of mine who hurled underage for wexford was telling me that the club is in real trouble and could really be relegated this year. Rugby has really taken over.

Now ross probably hasn't produced a hurler only eanna Martin other than that who have they since John Nolan. At underage they had to join with cloughbawn and clonard that's shocking for town teams."
Geraldine O'Hanrahans in a bit of trouble they are terrible. I cannot understand how Wexford GAA have not stepped in and helped out there. Make it a project for participation and restructuring

He said that was between the end of the league and start of championship, not this weekend.

Just to clarify. Paul Kinnerk is a Limerick man and John Kiely had Hegarty on his All Ireland winning U21 team in 2015. He was also a good footballer.

How is the squad looking for sunday? Hopefully we have a full squad to choose from bar Jippo and Richie Lawlor. I would hope they had 1 or 2 intense in house games since last weeks drubbing

Training hard apparently. This is the start of the real build up to summer now. I'd say Egan has a good idea of his 1st choice 15 and 26 at this stage.

Quick question for the history buffs of Wexford GAA.

Has any Wexford club ever previously applied to and played their club games in one of their neighbouring counties rather than take part in Wexford?

Don't believe it's ever happened but am open to correction on that.

Based on what I've seen so far this season and assuming everyone is available, but bearing in mind Chin isn't going to be able to motor all game playing in the middle 8, I'd be going with this team for Cork-

Fanning
S Reck, MOH, Devitt
Donohue, D Reck, Carty
Dee, K Foley
O Foley, Mogie, Dunbar
Chin, Mac, Rory

Subs-
J Lawlor, Jacko, Dwyer, Mcguckin, Hearne, Clarke, Higgins, Flood, C Foley, N Murphy, Byrne Dunbar.

As an aside that's I think 9 lads on the panel who were on the good 2018 u21 team. 10 if you include Flood. More of these lads than have done should've been getting a good amount of League gametime before this year. Probably 2 or 3 years ago. But better late than never!

Close call selecting Kevin and Cathal over Charlie but Kevin and Dee would have better positional awareness to drop in and cover for the halfback line going forwards. And Cathal has been getting better every game this year and is a little bit further on physically. I'd be expecting 5 or 6 points at least from the halfback line named, while at the same time the whole middle 8 hopefully will be fast and mobile enough to counteract Cork in this area. And at least we now have good subs who have plenty of recent League experience who hopefully can have an impact on the game when they come on.

All of which will count for absolutely #### all if management can't get the lads to play ferocious for 70 minutes.

Would go with something very similar. Lots of impact and pace on the bench with Jippo and Richie Lawlor still to come back. Hoping for a big performance on Sunday and evidence we are working towards a coherent game plan for championship

McGuckin is starting under Egan every day of the week.

He has no reason to drop him, the amount of turnovers, hooks and blocks he is getting in matches is consistently high. Good puck out option too.
