What are you talking about? Keegan was our best player last year and honestly, we'd be a poorer side without him. O'Shea had a good season when fit. McLoughlin might move on but that would probably be the height of it.

Jeez you went fierce quiet after the All-Ireland, though. Good to see you've recovered your voice a bit.

Getting rid of Keegan would be the stupidest thing imaginable.
And McStay is no fool.

And to think the McStay will be off the TV as a co commentator/ wannabe analyst is just a dream!
The Mayo players now are the only ones who have to listen to him!!!

Why will Mc Stay put it over the bar himself?

We put it over the bar more times than Galway back in April.

This appointment will up the ante in Connacht big time. McStay is a shrewd manager and won't do anything in haste but will tackle issues and that for sure. The clique in the panel will.be removed over time.

As a galway man this greater competition for Connacht can only be a positive and leave us in a better place in representing Connacht in AI glory.

Well done to Kevin and his crew. Mayo have got their dream team. I think most Roscommon supporters will wish him well. He has put a lot into Roscommon at club and county level but I really thought his chance was gone.
Four years is about right as there is a big rebuilding job to be done.
My only worry is that there appears to be a lot of chiefs in the backroom team. Hope the Indians don't rebel.

Best wishes to mayos new management team. Exciting days ahead for connacht football . League should be good. Also connacht championship be good. Would be great to see any Connacht team bridge the 22 year gap.

I think the normal 2 years would be appropriate and then reviewed after the 2 years if doing well give him a 2 year extension.

In his first interview as Mayo manager he's said there is no real transition to do as that has already been done by James Horan the last 4 years.

It's full steam ahead to challenge for the All-Ireland. First objective is to get back dominating the Connacht championship as Mayo did 2011 to 2015.

I wouldn't call it a rebuild. We are apparently in transition the past four years but still won two Connachts and got to two All Ireland finals. Most of the players from Horans first stint are gone. There are few club players in my head I'd like to see given a shot and I'm sure Kevin and his team will be at most of the upcoming club championship games.

Also while this year was a damp squib we were without two of our better forwards and Cillian O Connor not half the player he was.l being only back from 18 months.

ultimately though McStay and his team will be judged on winning an All Ireland or not.

In fairness. O Connor was double the player he was.. if you get my drift...

I always liked McStay, I wish him the best of luck. I'm not sure the panel is as talented as it was over the last ten years but his heart will certainly be in it.

Well Cillian o Connor will kick you 6 points when ye 5 in front but he won't kick you 1 when you 1 down.

Could have sworn O'Connor scored the equalizer in the 2016 drawn final against Dublin? Last kick of the game, if memory serves, 40 metres out and with a couple of Dubs closing him down. Belter of a score under pressure. He also buried a penalty against the same opposition a year before to get Mayo level.

I get that he's not much loved outside his own county, but people have to stop making things up, it's unbecoming.

O'Connor played some of the best football of his career in his last full season, he would certainly be an asset if he can get back to full fitness.

Yeah it's crazy the stuff that's made up to try and put Cillian down. You'd swear he only runs up scores against Sligo and Leitrim listening to some people. His scoring returns in AI quarter finals, semi finals and even finals are off the charts.
