Agree alot of thrash talking on here. Many good posters have came and went. Still it can't be denied the damage dominance scotstown have in monaghan football. It will have to be reviewed surely if it rolls into the next decade. Agahbog and few of the smaller teams in the north going well, perhaps changing of the guard Toome blackhill struggling in the south. Maghercloone flying in senior, awful that them and scotstown don't play a league final to October.

October finals serves the parishes well. Run out before Ulster. Speaking of which is the draw done and who will they play

Don't understand leaving the league final until after championship we surely must be one of the only few counties that run our league this way?

Congratulations Corduff on your county final win this evening. Just wondering why Mark McHugh is part of the backroom team? Surely if you're looking better could be found

What I do know is the younger brother will be more of an addition on the field when he lands. Baffled to see Mark involved tbh.

Faughs displaying both trophies last night after their win.
They are simmering nicely for the inter double

100%. All about winning for those young lads. Majority of whom have never lost a competition from under 12 upwards. Breeding champions again. Great to see it

With the championship starting this weekend what's the taughts on the groups. Personally in senior it's scotsown to top group 1 comfortably and clontibret truagh and corduff to battle for the other two spots. In group to I think it's between magheracloone and inniskeen to top the group and be joined by Latton then. Always an exciting time of the year

Senior - The decline in Ballybay has been startling this year. The aging profile of Ballybay's squad and in particular they key players was always a concern. Unless Dessie Ward can carry them, they are in deep trouble and as brilliant a player as he is, it could be too much to ask of him. Interested to see how Truagh, Latton and Magheracloone perform this year. Magheracloone are so well coached - definitely a team greater than the sum of their parts.

Intermediate - If Carrick can't get their **** together this year and win it, there is something seriously wrong with them. They have the talent, now need to show some backbone. Blayney are improving but they are still a year or two too young as a collective squad in terms of maturity I think. Harps have improved massively after a poor 2024. Clones, good starting 15, but very thin on the squad.

Junior -Emyvale's too lose. If they have all key players available , they won't be stopped. But, Seán's having Niall Kearns back is huge for them. If he's kept himself in shape, he'll be the best midfielder in Junior and he can carry that team.

Corduff will likely have a big say here in the race to finish as second best team in Monaghan. Scotstown are champions for the foreseeable. In intermediate I reckon harps and Carrick will top groups with Blayney and killany joining them in semis after beating donaghmoyne and Doohamlet in quarters

Be nice for Sean's to get a championship run out of Kearns before his big transfer to Scotstown in January
