Replying To Albundy19:  "Not good, an tochar are basically at the same craic on the other side of the gap, they have people believing that Roundwood is a stand alone club but they are pillaging smaller clubs like Ashford,Newtown, kilmac,Laragh and further afield."
Completely untrue with no basis whatsoever, Laragh might play with them underage but recently they have clara gales. No one from any other club is playing with them. May get your facts straight before stating false infromation .

As for Hollywood and valleymount, Maybe they should join together for senior and play in their own championship also.

Replying To Freethinker:  "To the best of my knowledge, many underage players from Laragh have played with An Tochair over the years mostly because Laragh couldn't field teams at underage to suit them. Many of them would have gone to school in Moneystown or Roundwood. They invariably end up back with their mother or parent club when they get past 17. Some of the present Laragh first team learned their football with their neighbours. I am told there is a player on the Roundwood u17 team who will be back with Laragh next year. There is no mystery or bad blood there anywhere, as far as I can find out."
Exactly, more or less a group team.

I'd say a bit less than more. Trying to call that a group team is a stretch.

They did this a few years ago with Lacken and Kilbride, think it was called Boden Gaels? It was a disaster and they were hammered in both senior championship games they played.

Strange results really. AGB won comfortably, same with Blessington - both having been well beaten in the first round. This minor football is, to me, the most entertaining of all to watch. to watch. Honest endeavour, no end of skill and all played in a sporting manner.

Clubs missing players now due to holidays. Hard to read much into these results mid summer. I know An Tochar were missing some of their key players...

Our u16s playing kildare at 1pm in Aughrim in the semi final of their competition. Should be an interesting game...

Seem like it's going to be of seismic proportions. Maybe new sponsorships ?? I can't think of anything else that would deserve such suspense

The Results and Fixtures pages have no info as of earlier this evening. The results have been piecemeal since last week. A new results and fixtures page would hardly be ground breaking or earth shattering.

What are the thoughts on the coming weekends senior fixtures ?
With these new 2 pointers, I'm not going to attempt forecast scores.
Group 1.
An Tochair v Balto. I expect Balto to get at least a draw out of this. I'm still not convinced by this Roundwood outfit. They seem to have gone back a bit. I don't think their association with the county panel has been a plus for the overall good of the team - or club.
Carnew v Bray. Should be a cracker. Carnew will bring a toughness to this that Bray may not handle too well and Ben Brosnan could be the difference here. Bray won the league playoff but championship is a different beast.
Group 2.
Rathnew to possibly shade this although Tinahely are champions but need to start showing that.
AGB v Blesso. Game of the weekend ? I'm going for a draw with these two.
Group 3
St Pats v Dunlavin. Will be a great test for this Dunlavin side who will improve as the season progresses but the townies should have enough in the tank with Tommy K back to carry this.
Kiltegan v Eire Og. Are Greystones on the way down ? They never got out of the blocks the last day but will be out to get themselves back in the frame for the quarters. Kiltegan, you ignore st your peril but I think the Seasiders should shade this.

Baltinglass to BT An Tochar
Carnew to BT Bray
Tinahely to BT Rathnew
Blessington to BT AGB
Dunlavin to BT St Pats
Kiltegan BT Eire Og.

On a separate note where have all the posters gone from the forum. Is it a complete lack of interest of this site or gaelic games in the county.

Dozens of good posters have gone silent on this site over the past few years. I follow other counties - Carlow, Wexford etc and there are always great informative posts about players, clubs, managers etc on them. Possibly a waning interest in Gaelic games within the county and this forum is just reflecting that. Having said that, one particular guy comes on here from time to time purporting to know everything about GAA affairs in the county, he rubbishes others opinions - particularly mine, but I'm well able for that. Other posters might think what's the point ?

Balto to beat An Tochar
Carnew to shade Bray
Rathnew to beat Tinahely
AGB v Blesso could go either way
Dunlavin to beat Pats
Kiltegan to beat Eire Og

There is a lack of interest on this forum in recent years. The forum is being kept alive by a small group of people who want Wicklow GAA to be in a good place. I don't know who the people are who are responsible for promoting gaelic games in the county but like other aspects of GAA activities in the county, there could be an improvement. Local radio coverage would be a start. Most local radio stations throughout Ireland do a great job promoting the local GAA scene, this doesn't seem to be the case in our own county. I think there is a concerted effort to use social media to cover the games in recent year and in fairness to the people updating social media, they do a pretty good job. Unfortunately there does seem to be a general lack of interest by members of the public in gaelic games in the county. This is a pity as there is an untapped audience there as was shown back at the end of the last decade and the beginning of this decade. With regard to a couple of posters rubbishing other opinions, even those posters seem to have deserted this forum.
