Is Clonbonny the place where we played an under 21 game one night a few years ago because it had the only lights in the County. It is out in Lough Ree way beyond Ballymahon. Surely this time a more suitable venue with an early start could have been found even if we have to bring flashlamps in case of penalties.

Replying To Ollie2:  "I would like to wish all the Wee County Hoganstand posters a Happy Christmas and peaceful New year. I'm on here since 2005 and the forum is slowly dying of death. Since it's the season to pick your favourite moments, here is my favourite Louth team of the last 16 years.

1. Neil Gallagher
2. John O Brien
3. Alan Page
4. Aaron Hoey
5. Razor Finnegan
6. Colin Goss
7. Adrian Reid
8. Paddy Keenan
9. Ronan Carroll
10. Andy Mc Donnell
11. Sam Mulroy
12. Darren Clarke
13. Colm Judge
14. Shane Lennon
15. JP Rooney"
Ollie, I know he played his last Louth game in 2003 but he was instrumental in Joes winning Joe Ward in 2006 so I would include the late great Stephen Melia RIP, in my favourite team for that period. Not sure who to leave out.

Stephen Melia played with Louth from 1984 to 2001. He holds the record appearance with the Wee County with 179 matches. He was captain when Louth won the Division 2 title against Offaly in 2000. If it was any other Louth team he would def be on it but I am picking it from 2005 because thats the year I first joined Hoganstand.

Ollie found Clonbonny ok. It's in the surburbs ol Lanesboro. A nice pitch with a wee stand. Lots of Stewart's directing traffic etc. Well done to organising group.
Our line out :-
Niall Carrie Hunterstown
Dan Corcoran Gers
Donal McKenny Mary's
Niall Sharkey Glyde
Lenny Grey Pats
Sean Healy Jocks
Conal McKeever Clans
Conor Early O.P.
Tommy Durnin
Liam Jackson Matys
Eoghan Callaghan Jocks
Jack Murphy Pats
Jay Hughes Dreads
Conal McCaul Joe's
Ryan Burns Hunterstown

Ollie would this qualify as the most inexperienced team fielded since 2005 ?
They played very well for 45 inutes and were 6 points up ay that stage. Then wholestage changes were made with some of the better lads replaced. I think they were just trying out as many as possible before the league.
Best were D. Corcoran,C McKeever, C .Early, L Jackson, E. Callaghan,J. Murphy and R. Burns, who is coming back to what we used to know

Started well and then fell asleep, a lot of regulars missing and some taken off, maybe the hard training got to them? Interesting to see how this week pans out.

It would not be far off 19616609. 8 points up at half time and only to score 2 points in the second half with Longford getting the 2 goals were the big difference. Jay Hughes looks a good prospect. On to Parnell Park next. By the way Happy belated New year to your goodself.

Watched the game vs the Dubs last night on BeoSport, great service and option for this time of year! Very poor Louth team and performance, particularly in the 1st half! At no stage did they even attempt to play some football. A lot of lads look completely out of their depth…even the "improved" second half team left a lot to be desired! Ciaran Byrne's form was only positive to take away from last nights game.

Ah here - Some of these lads never played with Louth before! Missed a few chances also.
Yes, the goals was not good especially the 2nd one.

3rd Q was very good and Byrne was on fire.

They are Div 3 after all and only up from Div 4.

I think this 3 are out Ollie
12. Ciaran Downey 13. Ciaran Keenan 14. Conor Grimes

It is a Pity we have so many injuries, I am just hoping that all these games do not suit Laois.

The rumour going around the Bull is that James Califf is back in the Louth squad but this time as a goalkeeper.
