Anyone know how the supporters club corporate lunch went yesterday? In fairness they put an impressive line up together including Denis O'Brien, Brian Cody and Jim Gavin among others. Hopefully Club Carlow made good money out of it.

Dark dark day for our hurling. That didn't happen by accident no doubt, and hardly a stash decision, wouldn't be the form of that man from what I've Always heard. He hardly left alone?

Sad to see Tom Mulally leave but if for personal reasons that's understandable. He done a really good job with the hurlers imo. Hopefully the county board can find a suitable replacement although it won't be easy.

Is he leaving Naas position as well?

Very sad to see Mulally step away at this late stage as the players are due back training next week. Someone has said its for genuine personal reasons & if that's true fair enough & I wish the man well as he was a great manager for us. However it that's not the case I'd be very disappointed as he had committed to the new year & we now under serious pressure to get in someone else. I wonder have a few of our stalwarts let it be known they won't be playing next year & he said its time to go also???
Tough times ahead for our hurlers as the players coming through are not the same quality as what's there now.

Sallins beat Meath champions by a cricket score today. Using them as barometer to measure how the standard of our intermediate championship.

Well done to the cocks today. It's a fair achievement to Meath the Meath junior champions and to do it with type of high scoring and in those heavy conditions was impressive. I wasn't there but they seemed to kick a fair few two pointers.

I saw a good bit of the junior and intermediate championships this year and I thought the top junior teams were as good as the intermediate teams. I said at the time that fair play to grange but I thought they were closer to junior than senior in standard. I still think the best 8 teams in the county were in this year's senior championship. Grange will struggle big time next year and Tinryland will walk the intermediate.

Any notion of extending the SFC to 10 teams next year would be a retrograde step in my opinion. All it will do is dilute all three main championships. 8, 8 and 8 is still the right fit for Carlow.

I'd echo what's been said, well done to the Fighting Cocks. A big result and to do it after extra time shows great resolve. Hopefully they'll have great confidence going into the next round. U21 hurling semi finals played this afternoon. Big win for MLR v St Mullins as expected. They're an impressive side. Carlow Town with a good win v Naomh Eoin in other semi final. MLR strong favourites but Carlow have some impressive players who could make it difficult for them.
