Replying To Commodore:  "I think Eoin McGeehin will be a massive hit if gets a proper run, he is a quiet player, but I think he brings a different goal scoring ability that we have been lacking in a lot of games in the last 2 years, he can thrive in a crowded defense. Whereas most of our goals last year tended to arrive when flooding the opposition with numbers during a quick break, but goal threat dried up when quality opposition could limit our breaks."
Do you genuinely believe he will get game time? Every offseason or preseason we see new talent playing in friendlies. A lot rarely see any meaningful senior games. It's good having a young squad to choose from for the future but if any of the new blood is to get championship minutes it will most likely be Malone or Muldoon.

In saying that, where is Luke McGlynn?

Hey Folks..I see Abbey are in the semi finals of Mcgory cup again this year. Great achievement..I just wanted to ask if they have a good chance this year to win it and who they play next in semi-final..I remember last year final by a point I think and the team that beat them cleaned every other team by good few scores even a kerry team in the final..anyone know anything about the current team..thanks..great to see underage football in Donegal in good health

Hi Rory. I've been keeping an eye on their results without knowing much about the team. They've lost a few from last year but McCahill is still there and he must be a bit of a cheat code at this level. I imagine it'll be one of the Derry schools who'll be favourites again without knowing much about them. I remember last year's final. The winners were a very good side and outplayed Abbey for long periods but goals and a never say die spirit kept them in it. Brilliant really what is going on around Donegal town regarding the development of players. I genuinely think Four Masters can be Donegal and Ulster club champions in the next few years.

If Eoin McGeehan gets a proper run, he will definitely be in contention to be a starter come Championship. He should have been in the Donegal squad since 2022, during Declan Bonners last year, but I think he couldn't commit due to University and work commitments. He is a proven goal scorer, and has a natural ability to stealth his way into goal scoring opportunities in crowded defenses. He is around 25 or 26 now I think, so he has that extra bit of experience to make an impression.

I suppose its a waiting game now to see how many of them can consistently perform well and put their hand up for start in the League, then how many of those will make the cut for Championship. We have a large squad of players available.
