Replying To KerrymanStuckInDonegal:  "They have no 2nd team. They are not in reserve league or championship. But they have a team in Div 4 ( third teams)...that's wrong. We (Killybegs) put a reserve team week in week out and get hammered most weeks.

We changed the name of the reserve team to the devolpment team because we tried to get rid of the negativity around word reserve or b team. But no days we can barely get 15 playing to tog doesn't matter what you call the team."
You must really be struggled for numbers at this stage.

A 41 point defeat against Maccumhaills tonight. Surely that must be a record defeat in Donegal adult club football?

Yes things are bad. Perhaps we should be let play in Div 4 like bundoran are?

McCools were very good tonight. Young team, flying fit and lot of strength up the centre of their team. Paddy Hannigan was their oldest player and was their best player too.

We are just struggling to field at the moment. At least we aren't throwing the towel in.

I don't know how the harden Gaels in Killybegs would feel about a drop to Div. 4. It would be a blow to the ego.

They were quite indignant about playing in Div. 3 a few years back.

We are talking about RESERVE football, and the fact that we are in Div 1 reserve getting hammerings and Bundoran Reserves (one of the few teams we might beat) pulled out of Division 1 RESERVE to play Div 4.

I think Killybegs focus should be about getting their reserve team stronger, not focusing so much on what Bundoran have done.

The way Killybegs seniors are going the reserve won't have to be worried about getting hammered Div. 1 next year.

I don't think playing reserve football is doing them any favours, hard to get lads to tog when they know they are getting hammered, at least you can get some competitive football in the third team league and try to rebuild the thing.

Murphy doing the damage at the weekend would break your heart. Delighted he's back on the field and healthy.

Glenswilly dark horses for the Championship? With Murphy focusing solely on the club they'll be a tough nut to crack. From memory they gave Naomh Conaill a right good battle last year.

It'd be great if the likes of Aodh Ruadh and St Michaels could also push on a notch or two and really challenge the established big 4. With Donegal likely to be out of contention fairly soon, might we see an improved Club Championship this year? In theory most county lads will be back in with the clubs soon (bar the odd few who will head to the US). So they should get more league football in than previous years. Here's hoping anyway and who knows we might even see some more expansive football.

Just another wee word on club - it was great to see Kieran Gillespie back on the pitch for Gaoth Dobhair last Friday against Bundoran. He's had some rotten run of it with injuries. Hopefully he can enjoy an injury free club career now.

Big Four ? I would say Big 2. Eunans and Glenties far ahead of the pack.

Kilcar are suffering with injuries, so I can only see Gweedore as the only team that can mix it up with Glenties and Eunans. Gweedore look a lot sharper than 12 months ago.

St.Micheals couldn't field at beginning of year....I know soccer is finished now but you can't go from not fielding to challenging that quickly.
Ballyshannon are young and fot and defensively sound but still the scores is going to be a problem for them.

It will be interesting to see what county board do. Do they try and run off the championship the second Donegal are out or do they finish the league, allowing boys to go out foreign for a few weeks and be back for championship?

He's had a few reserve games also so hopefully he'll take his time getting back to it.

Looks like a two horse race this year again. Glenties and Eunans. Hard to tell if Kilcar and Gweedore will pick up.

As lockjaw has said Glenswilly could be darkhorses.

Also minor final last night southern board, both Four Masters teams contested the final. Fair play to them. Good to see hard work at underage paying off for them.

Yeah until proven otherwise I guess NC and Eunans are the top 2. I think Gaoth Dobhair are a bit ahead of where they were last year but whether or not they could topple either of the top two remains to be seen.

I would say they'll run off the leagues first. If they do championship first a lot of those league games will become dead rubbers, bar for those teams hoping to get promoted or avoid relegation.

I see Donegal Management not doing any press briefings ahead of the Clare game. What the hell are they hoping to achieve with that. It's embarrassing, amateur hour, we're definitely a laughing stock at this stage.

St Eunans and glenties a two horse race at senior IMO.
Termon look runaway favourites at intermediate level. Hard to tell but looks that way to me

The intermediate is a very hard championship to win. Termon will be there or thereabouts I'm sure but there will be other clubs who fancy their chances too.

He wasn't up against much and barely got out of 2nd gear against a poor junior team.

Would definitely love to still him still involved against Clare on Saturday though.

I think the old adage applies;

Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

No matter what they say, it will sound ridiculous unless they can back it up. Lets hope the players can prove them wrong.

Would imagine they don't want to give away any information in terms of the shape of the squad. With all the new injuries, I'm sure they are struggling to find 15-20 lads.
