There would presumably be a few on the Killoe panell going for their 7th Senior medal this year, does anyone know what player/players would have more/the most?

Daniel Mimnagh, the McGoldricks, Mark Hughes, Michael Quinn all around since 2012. Seamus Flynn and Jimmy Flynn won 8 medals

Seamus Flynn won 8 with Clonguish may be other players from Clonguish with similar and possibly players from Drumlish or Granard in 20's and 30's

Think Sean Kilemade won 9 with Slashers.

Most is probably Seamus Flynn and Jimmy Flynn who won 8 with Clonguish in 1960's and 1970's and Jimmy Hannify Snr who won 8 with Drumlish in the 1930's and 1940's. Joe Regan and Tony Sheridan won 7 for Granard in 1930's and 1940's. Pat Burke won 7 with Clonguish. Peter Burke and Thomas Hopkins won 5 with Clonguish. Sean Kilemade was mentioned above but am pretty sure he 'only' won 3 with Slashers (1975, 1979, 1980).

Apologies Sean Kilemade won more than I said above. He was on the team in 1975, 1979, 1980, 1989, 1990 & 1991. He wasn't on the panel in 1994 and I think he was too young for the 1971 panel . So I reckon he won 6 in total.

So Carrickedmond lost their appeal. They've been badly advised during this whole debacle. But fairness had to prevail.

I think I read somewhere (possibly Longford GAA stats page) that Séamus and Jimmy Flynn from Clonguish hold the record of 8 medals.

What a win for Mostrim tonight. 50 years after their first senior championship. Saved their skins tonight. However Carrick must be absolutely sick, in hindsight they really should have played that match against slashers but I suppose it was an unprecedented situation.

Well there you have it. That's why Carrickedmond should of showed up to play Slashers. They've been badly advised throughout this saga

Well that all came back to bite Carrickedmond in the ass. They should have played the game against Slashers as I always thought they would have a better chance of beating them than Mostrim. Slashers were the big winners in this as I felt Carrick and Mostrim would have beaten them.

Replying To Rossfan93:  "Don't think its a fluke. Rathcline warrant being senior but the standard of Longford football is very poor. Current Intermediate clubs in Longford would be Junior standard in most other counties. Some senior clubs in Longford (Kenagh, Carrickedmond, Mostrim, Granard) would struggle to compete in the Intermediate Championship in Roscommon.

I've watched a lot of these club games in Longford and bar Killoe, every other team is very average or below. I'd say Frankie Dolan cannot believe he is in a semi final with Abbeylara. He was over Roscommon Gaels (a better team) and only made a quarter final.

Dark days ahead for Longford football - hopefully the Championship structure change can do something."
2 south Longford teams gone from senior to intermediate

Thank you Frankie Dolan for saving us from another year of listening to them.

Fair play Abbeylara. Can't have any complaints. Killoe didn't show up, kicked nearly a dozen wides and didn't deserve it on the day. Abbey better on the ball, kept possession when it mattered. Better team won on the day.

As I said before, there is never more than a kick of a ball between teams in Longford when it comes down to the wire.

Great result for Abbeylara. Final will be very interesting now no matter what. Fancy colmcille to win it out
