This is a Leitrim forum thank you very much. Other counties come here for attention but let them have it if they so wish please. It's great as it gives our forum plenty of clicks thank you all so much for contributing to this please.

Worrying we fell so far behind in the first half but Stephen Poacher made all the right sideline moves and lads responded heroically. Barry starts on any team in the country, Actually a better all around performer than Keith Beirne ever was. All due respects to Keith, Div 4 is incredibly tight from 1 thru 5. Fixtures are actually in our favour on the run in, Antrim is a must win at home. Longford is essentially a home game as numbers of supporters should make their voices heard, Carlow may be home and dry by the time we meet. Other results will be fascinating to follow, London will take points off other teams and I cant see both Waterford and Antrim finishing without a point or 2.We still remain a little soft at times in defense but we are scoring majestically when needed, Goalkeeping issue should now be sorted and consistancy in the back will keep us right up there at the finish, No reason to believe we cant get promoted."

Leitrim victory over London of almost historic proportions yet most of the posters seem to be from other counties which is of no interest to us Leitrim supporters .Am unashamedly biased but believe this team will go all the way with quality players like Barry,Tim,Ryan Gaffey and several others who showed their battling spirit against a strong London who are still in the fight. Next round of games could sort out contenders but am confident Leitrim will add 2 more points against Antrim having home advantage & a dry pitch.Up the Green & Gold!

he did is right, but i don't think he ever lived in Leitrim. he was a Dub. and Duggan is a Longford man. end of story.

Agreed 100 percent, But would add that Tom Prior is also a key man. Kudos also to Stephen Poacher, as much maligned as Heimer Halgrimson at the outset. He has a fabulous young team believing in his sysytem and believing in themselves. I fully expect an 8 to 10 point win over Antrim. I would also start the game without Barry, Keep him in cottonwool until hes needed. Without looking too far forward with rose coloured glasses,we should have no fear at all of Sligo in the first round of the championship.

Absolutely Tom is a joy to watch, a very lively player who links up the play well. After London, I'll take any win. We were gone at half time. Game over. Heading for Heathrow. So one game at a time, but I think these lads can do it if everyone keeps the head and keeps fit.

Ah lads a bit of perspective is needed here. We beat the two teams that were bankers for getting g 4pts before this league started...and we barely beat them at that, could have lost in fact which is very ominous. The team that would show where we really were in the pecking order...Wicklow, we lost to.

I would hope momentum would get us to the top 2 but I'd say there's lads from the remaining counties looking at some of us saying a win over London was historic and shaking their heads laughing.

Agree that a bit of perspective is needed. One good half of football and there are posters going on about Croke Park and promotion and not fearing Sligo in the championship. Let's see how they do against Antrim on Sunday. Take it one game at a time. A lot of counties still in the mix, Longford found their shooting boots at the weekend, Carlow beat Tipp but were lucky enough by reports. Wicklow in the mix as well. Small shoots for us but don't be getting carried away. Still need to tighten up that defence, conceding too much.

Poacher is no Heimer, let's not go mad here. HH wouldn't concede a game to Fermanagh.
But we have a Troy Parrot in McNulty, so we have a chance of promotion if we can keep him and everyone else we have fit.

Defensively I'd be worried as I don't think we have enough quality defenders and losing the one we have in Donal Casey is a massive loss. From midfield up i think we're as good as anyone else in the division but we're going to have to keep it tighter at the back as well as keeping key men like McNulty, Prior and Ryan O'Rourke fit and in good form. Can't look beyond the next game, Antrim have been a huge disappointment in the league but surely they have a big game in them and these are exactly the games that we have struggled with in the past. Can't look any further than Sunday. Any hope Donal Casey will play any part in league?

Great to see Leitrim going so well this year. I saw enough against Mayo last year to know that this group will push on. Taking full points away to a good London team says a lot about where things are at with yeer lads. Keep it going!

Word of caution however, beware of the wounded animal. His bite can do damage. I would be very wary of Antrim this weekend. Good luck to yee all.

Isnt it good to see this Forum discussing football rather than the usual silly stuff that has predominated recently.
I cant see Donal Casey back for the league.Agree we are short on backs.However they did play well against Wicklow and ok against Waterford.
They will not be taking Antrim ,the pre season favourites for granted.
Morale in the camp is really good I hear and that means a lot.
The team is young and light and need dry fast surfaces.I hope the weather for Sunday is fair and there is big support there.I hear there was big Leitrim support in Ruislip.
I also agree with other posters, talk of promotion id premature at this stage.
