Exactly never came across a Club with notions like them

The numbers are readily available via the census, school enrolment numbers etc. Set the ball rolling at underage and establish proper amalgamations. And, in the next few weeks, remember, exciting games do not equal quality fare.

8 is the magic number for senior and inter, junior A could probably be only 8 yet too but I don't think so as no club wants to be the first relegated to junior B as it could be the beginning of the end of the road for them. Aughawillian just unlucky to be missing key players and should make the drop next year if they don't get them back. This isn't the ladies, we have more than 5 teams capable of competing at senior, then again the ladies are higher ranked that the men at inter county so maybe theyre doing something right...

What a loaded comment... what did they do to you? Leitrim could do with more Aughawillan's, if every club (including my own) took their football as seriously as they did, we'd be in a better place. Just because they got a hockeying yesterday doesn't make them a bad club. They're doing well to keep a team going despite the challenges.

I'd day theres no club with less notions then Aughawillan. We could all probably learn from them. What theyve done over theast 15 years let alone in the 90s puts most clubs to shame in the county.

However, I'm sure we've all heard the stories of different famillies and groups holding sway in that club and when you combine it with losing the 3 Plunketts and Pearce Dolan you can see why they're struggling. They finished the game with 5 players over 40 playing

I'd be more worried about the core of their team who are still capable but looked disillusioned from the start.
Tom Plunkett looks a real player - was he injured for the U20s?

Ballinamore looked excellent but very hard to judge them against that level of opposition any team with the 2 Morans, Honryman and Tom Prior will be there or there abouts. Not sure will their defence be good enough against Fenagh however.

Two brilliant Semi-Finals ahead.

mohill looked very good, Keith Keegan was excellent in midfield, Keith Beirne looked sharp too. they're a serious force still and Leitrim Gaels won't have it all their own way. Ballinamore probably have the best forward unit in the county. McKeon is also in great shape and pulled all the strings against the willies and Carrick too.

2 cracking semis to come and very hard to call.

Ballinamore V Fenagh - Ballinamore
Every year we are led to believe Fenagh are some how the best team in Leitrim. They'll do their usual and fold in the semi.

Mohill V Leitrim - leitrim
Will be tight, Mohill are a fantastic outfit and I am tipping Leitrim only by a point or two down to the sheer work rate and ability of the Jones lads.

i'm not so sure I think fenagh realise the time is now and they might have enough for Ballinamore.

I think Mohill/Leitrim will be tight ok. but i think the Jones lads will be the difference so i'm saying Leitrim Gaels by 3.

Anyone with a passing knowledge of the history of Leitrim football would know that Aughawillan would do the same to any team that was in their way when they were in their pomp, going back to the 1970s. And that is why such a small club in area size has the commendable record and titles they have. They were one of the hardest beaten teams in the past 50 years.

Ideally it will be a Fenagh Leitrim final ending in a Fenagh victory but it probably won't happen

Ah they've been spinning that "realising" line for years now - they're the Tottenham of Leitrim football. Talk and Walk around like they've won everything and won nothing sure they haven't been in a final for about 26 years and don't expect them to be in one anytime soon.

Where exactly do Fenagh walk and talk like they've won anything? That's a bit silly now.

Ballinamore V Fenagh
Fenagh have a brilliant all round team, should have been more successful with the team they have but they fold under the pressure on the big day. I think the same will happen this weekend.
Honeyman, Prior, McKiernan and P Moran in Ballinamore's forward line will be hard stopped. Especially with the service Wayne McKeon gives them with passes and the fact Fenagh are open at the back. Ballinamore by 1/2.

Mohill V Leitrim Gaels
It will be tight. Leitrim Gaels the favourites for the championship and rightly so, so far. Mohill the past few years on paper look like they're declining but they just seem to know how to win in the pressure cooker every year. If they give Keith Beirne frees anywhere within 50m of the goal they're going over. I still think Leitrim Gaels will have enough around the middle to overpower Mohill. LM Gaels by 2.
