I find joe123 a very decent poster. He's not living in cuckoo land and knows the state and standard of Leitrim football. Most other poster are nearly apologizing for getting to Div 3 and keep saying how lucky they were. They won't be happy until they are back in Div 4 where they can cry about everything. A small touch of positivity on this forum could do wonders for morale and after each of your 3 club teams getting hammered out the gate in Connacht club championship games you should be garnishing all the positivity you can get

I don't think the moral of the Leitrim football is dependent on posts on the hoganstand.
Fair play to joe 123 nothing wrong with having a positive outlook he is entitled to his opinion, but I think anyone that played football and went to watch our matches, it was very hard to see where the progress was made. You have to give your honest opinion.
Were you at the championship match between Leitrim and Sligo? Were you impressed with Leitrim?
You did well to get the dig in about our clubs getting hammered out the gate in connacht. Very positive lol.

Exactly. 4/5 points should be enough to keep us up and it not too much to ask, dropping back down will bring us back to where we were in 2021. Accepting lower standards is why we failed so long to get back up after going down. Player drop off is a part of it yes but I think you will find nearly every county has this issue, we may not have the reserves but better standards will address this in time followed by better retention.

It was 6-3 to Pearse's on 40 mins when the sending off happened. That's a good position for any underdog. I'd say O Hara had the right gameplan and that was a winnable position. It's not his fault a player got sent off and it killed the game. Its like some of yee think Pearse's had the man sent off. Many people in Sligo credit Gerry McGowan with Tourlestrane's victories which is unfair. O Hara then goes out and wins u20 connacht as selector and 2 Leitrim county titles as manager and that deserves a lot of credit. The narrative has changed and I think O Hara has a lot to offer any set up be it club or county. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

If Leitrim can stay up in Division 3 next year it would be a genuine miracle. This is why the new management need to be trusted and given time. They have a whole batch of new players in training and hopefully they can uncover one or two players we didn't expect.
Thank god the new rules have got in as it should see the likes of Ryan O'Rourke, Keith Beirne and Darren Cox thrive.
However, We have lacked real man markers for a good few years now which is going be a major issue next year. We could be wide open.
The main problem I see us having is that with the new rules having a good midfield/Middle third will be key. And we are going to be without nearly every player who has impressed in midfield at Club or County level in the last 10 years.
