Just read online that former Dromahair player Cian Clinton scored 5pts out of Carryduffs 10pts in a 6pt defeat against Kilcoo in Down County Championship tonight. Don't know what age he is but surely Andy should be keeping a eye on him? Weaternpro (Leitrim) - Posts: 64 - 28/08/2023 22:26:02 2502740 Link 0 |
What solution have you in mind for the problem?

Cian must be over 30 now?? He definitely played in and won an intermediate club title with Dromahair in 2014. He was in and around previous Leitrim teams and squads without really getting going in them, which surprises me because he always looked like a very good player any time I seen him for Dromahair.

I see that. Marty misinformed me again. He had been warned. He'll be getting the Ash plant now. Leitrim2024 (Leitrim) - Posts: 61 - 29/08/2023 12:33:42 2502818 Link 1 |

Don't be looking across the border at our championships....they are a complete mess and have been for a decade or more. We have 21 clubs in the county of which 12 are considered Senior by our County Board. Killashee came up from Intermediate last year and pulled the plug after 1 game. This year Ballymahon came up and they are no better than a lower end Intermediate club and possibly Junior in most counties. They took heavy beatings in their first 3 games and then went out last weekend against Clonguish and lost 11-19 to 0-06.....no that is not a misprint 11 goals and 19 points!!!! We should only have 8 Senior clubs, 8 intermediate and 5 Junior. The problem with us is that too many boys in suits in the weaker Senior clubs do not want their club classed lower than Senior. For a player would you not want to be going out in February training, thinking you had a chance of silverware in Intermediate or Junior instead of looking forward to beatings in the Senior?!! Some surprise results the weekend ,,mohill are getting momentum big result for them ,hard to call next weekend soh should beat manor,Leitrim Gaels will have a stonger team out than the one that played Fenagh in the first round but Fenagh will have Ryan Orourke,,this could be a draw Redlad6 (Leitrim) - Posts: 30 - 04/09/2023 11:53:22 2502964 Link 0 |
Fenagh will beat leitrim gaels. SOH had no match for Ryan ORourke sat. They should beat Manor too.

By all accounts Aughawillan will be kicking themselves... a match against Ballinamore would have been a tight affair. I'd be surprised if Manor beat them. In fairness the semi's will be made up of the 4 strongest teams in the county at the moment (Fenagh should progress as well).

I remember seeing a Cloone game and witnessing the best individual performance I've seen in a long time from Darren Carberry I remember asking a Cloone fella about him and he said him and his brother "blow ins" that proved to be right in the long run but I'm wondering where are the playing now? The seem to have left there club in Longford as well. I think Darren played in the FBD league the following yr for Leitrim Weaternpro (Leitrim) - Posts: 64 - 05/09/2023 09:13:27 2503100 Link 0 |
Aughawillan downfall was the Carrick game, scoring difference but unfortunately that's the luck of the draw,I still think there will be a surprise the weekend,Soh needed the direct route to the semi they still have work to do and could get caught by manor ,but as for the other game it's always a tight game and Leitrim can rise to the occasion and they have a stronger team than there last game,if they can handle the Fenagh forwards anything could happen, looking forward to both games

Darren is actually back playing in Longford with Kenagh in the Intermediate championship this year and in with a chance of winning it! has played with 3 different clubs in Longford, 1 in Leitrim and most recently a club in Dublin.

I know you can transfer counties whenever but surely between clubs there is some rules around it e.g. residency, old team folded etc.

Not saying it happened in this case, but if a fellow fell out with a club there wouldn't be many that would stop a transfer. If one really wanted to circumvent rules, what's stopping a lad from giving an address in a neighbouring parish with the concent of the homeowner? I'd say it could be easily sorted in fairness.
