Replying To The_analyser:  "Junior final result St Aidans 3-7 Ballinameen 0-11.

A contest that didn't live up to it's potential but Aidans won't care as they set the platform with clinical finishing for three goals in the 1st half. Ballinameen scored 17 goals on route to the final and never looked like scoring any today so credit where it's due for the defensive team effort by Aidans. Best defence usually wins titles.

Next up is Eastern Gaels or Ardagh but before that 15 of their players will be in action for Four Roads against Tooreen.

As for Ballinameen gave themselves a mountain to climb 1st half and cut the margin to 3 late on. 2nd Junior final defeat in a row will be tough to take on the chin but can regroup and look to reach the final again next year."
Well done Aidans and hard luck Ballinameen.
Looked a decent attendance.

Competitive 1st half with Brigids leading 0-9 to 0-8. Pearses will be disappointed after they held a 4 point lead on 18 minutes.

Glorious weather conditions and rare sight of no real wind in Hyde Park

Result after 60 minutes St Brigids 0-18 Padraig Pearses 1-15. A final that suits the quality of our club championships. Two pointer from Conor Hand gave Brigids the lead but Colleran two pointer with the last attack brings the game in extra time.

Brigids with a 5 point lead at Half-time in extra time very much their game/final to lose. Pearses no score in that half and the manner they conceded the goal will leave them very disappointed unless they can come up with a big in the last ten minutes

Brigids get the job done, opening half in extra time the difference (1-2 to no score) . First team since themselves in 2017 to retain the county title and needed extra time to do it.

Congratulations to Brigids, once again will take a good team to beat them in Connacht

Pearses left it behind them. Could have put 4 or 5 points bewtween them and Brigids but kicked 2 bad wides that really should have been points. Kept them in the game and Brigids took over in extra time.

A great contest. Pearses will be sickened with that goal in extra time. Pearses have quality on the bench but Brigids just have an extra level to call upon. Charlie O Carroll very impressive. Some super scores from both teams. What was the wide count at the end? Pearses didn't hit the efficency of previous games, it was always going to be tough to keep that up. Conor Hand is just a super player, hopefully he can be worked into the starting 15 next year for Roscommon, he's too good to be an impact sub.

A great county final. Brigids still the kingpins but Pearses will have regrets. The €25 charge and no OAP price left a very sour taste in my mouth. Extremely bad form. I go to county finals in other counties and none treat their hard pressed GAA members in this way. Brigids are great champions and will represent us well but I stand by the comment a made some weeks ago that we have the least competitive club championship of the ones I go to with Brigids and Pearses a good bit ahead of the chasing pack. All other counties I go to have at least four clubs with a realistic chance of winning. Hopefully that changes and so does the county board price committees
