Replying To Rossie2020:  "Shame that Ciaran Lennon won't be able to commit this year, really thought he could be a starter this year for us but best of luck to him we must plan without him. Good to see a few lads back training and in contention for Cork game. If they are all able to start my team would be something like.

1. Conor Carroll (Inexperienced and light but Lavin won't have much training done / match sharpness etc)
2. Fergal Lennon
3. Colin Walsh
4. Brian Stack
5. Ultan Harney
6. Conor Hussey
7. Richard Hughes
8. Eddie Nolan
9. Shane Cunnane
10. Ciaran Lawless
11. Enda Smith
12. Niall Kilroy
13. Cathal Heneghan
14. Donie Smith / Andy Glennon
15. Conor Cox

Few debatable ones as I'm not 100% sure who will / won't be available"
Glennon was brutal last week bar one excellent point, Cant see him anywhere near it to be honest. McKeon could start he was a sub last week because he couldn't get off work early enough.

Completely forgot about McKeon, yeah he will start for sure. Glennon wasn't great but was struggling to think of who we have available, said it here before that I think Donie Smith is better off the bench then starting even though we are short on numbers. I wonder will the the u20s O'Carroll and McDermott play any part in the league? Daire Cregg in good form for UCD during week serious prospect in the coming years

From what I hear Cunningham wants to keep McDermott's O'Carroll and cregg but Tully isn't also wants them understandably so decision is up to the three lads and they want to play U20s and stick with that which I completely understand. Very good U20 team this year. They are three serious prospects and Roscommon football won't fade away yet

In my opinion the u 20s should be let have their shot at glory with a full pick.
They'll have plenty of time for Senior after. Theyll never be u 20 again.
The Senior panel has plenty of forwards anyway.

I'd expect the U20s on the senior panel to join up with the U20 panel shortly. For now it's no hard that the likes of Ben O'Carroll and Adam McDermott to be training with the seniors and getting some game time.

Connacht U20 championship will be highly competitive with good Sligo, Roscommon, Mayo and Galway teams involved.

Yeah the lads should play with the u20s as they have a great team again and should be pushing to retain the Connacht title. Goalkeeper is a big call to make next week will be interesting who gets the nod. Cork lost by 12 today I see but looking at they're team with Powter, Collins, Brian Hurley and Luke Connolly etc they will be hard bet, good forwards and with us missing so many backs we will have to more then likely put up a big enough score.

Sligo first up and might well be our last.
In the last 3 Minors they won 2 to our 1.
Our win was on a horrible Stephen's Day when no human should have been outdoors never mind 16/17 year olds trying to play an important football match.
Tehe fact so many of this year's team were involved last year will be a big help.

On paper it will be Sligos strongest ever U20 team so they certainly aren't to be underestimated.

For us what will be key is finding like for like replacements from last years AI final team as the keeper Conor Carroll, full back Colin Walsh corner back Dylan Gaughan, wing half backs Ruaidhrí Fallon, Jack Lohan, midfielder Keith Doyle, sweeper Robbie Dolan and forward James Fitzpatrick are all gone.

Any word on how that Leitrim challenge game went? Were there any other challenges of late also? I believe we played Cavan a couple of weeks ago and Ros won but I haven't heard of any challenges being played since?

Beat Leitrim by 4 points i think. Believe we were poor.
Played a Dublin selection Saturday but have heard nothing of it since. Dubs were playing Laois in OBC same day so dont know what sort team they had either.

Believe we drew with dubs in what was a similar dubs team to the 1 that beat laois the same day mixture of old and new, these challenges nothing can be read into though.
Sunday will tell a lot.

Lavin surely isn't back from injury?

Think that's spot on to be fair, will we have any impact from bench is the thing?

Looking forward to seeing Cunnane Doyle & Nolan compete for midfield positions. Think we have not been strong at midfield over past few years. It releases Enda Smith to forwards.

Impact from the bench will more than likely be the biggest issue for Roscommon until Faithleachs, Pearses players return.

On Colm Lavin, Anthony Cunningham said he was back in training and available for selection for the Rebels.

Think when we have a more experienced backline would be the best time to play young Carroll but if Lavin hasn't played in any challenge matches we might have no option. Carroll's a lot better in terms of kickouts but is light. Options from bench are Ruane, McCormack, Doyle, Glennon and probably Lawless. Anyone know if we have anyone else back available or added anyone else to the panel?

I heard Hussey and stack were back training but did they start any challenge games. Badly need them two starting Sunday.
