No League Semi Finals since 2017!!"
Of course no semi finals. HQ wanted to get rid of finals no chance were they bringing back semi finals when scrapped 6 years ago.

Players numbers on the back seems to confuse some people still. McDaid is given a more interchangeable role on the Galway team than set position. His main contributions on Sunday was 4 turnovers in the wing half back position. A point from wing half forward position and assist for Heaneys point again from wing half forward.

Replying To Yondu:  "Conroy and Cooke was Galways midfield pairing on Sunday neither had their best of games. McDaid played wing half forward and dropped back into defence when needed.

Was no midfield battle worth talking about as both teams opted to go short on the majority of their kick outs. Team have got relegated on 6 points before the aim should be 7 points."
3 of our last 5 points came direct from long kickouts we won.
Were u there really?

Yes perfectly positioned towards the back of the stand with a birds eye view of the game plans and match ups.

Majority of scores came from turn overs be it forced or unforced, lots of running with the ball played through the hands with both not willing to kick it long as possession was king.

Encouraging display by our U20s this afternoon winning by 3 points. Ward, Sugrue, Keogh, O Flaherty, Kelly, Nugent, Colleran among our stand out.
Hard luck CBS losing the Connacht final by 1 point.

Wasn't at game today.. seem to have decent u20 team again. How do we really compare to Galway mayo this year both with full teams

Don't know a lot about u20s this year but good win today by all accounts. I know Shane McGinley is to come back to seen him for u17s and once or twice for Stown, good player. Colm Neary a great talent should be on senior team in a year or two. Was impressed with Casey for Boyle last year any time I seen him and Niger and Colleran are accurate. Shane Walsh a good player would expect him to follow suit of his brothers onto senior team in future

Good win for the U20s yesterday. I wonder were there any standout performances. I know Colm Neary of Strokestown is a great prospect and of course he was outstanding in the senior club championship. How were we at midfield. I wonder what O'Beirne of Shannon gaels is like. It's a while since we had a Shannon gaels player on the senior team. Ciaran Lynch I think was the last man from there.

Not many County Seniors In the last 20 years from that whole North Eastern region of Ronans, Micks, Shannon G, Kilmore, Kilglass, Barry's.
Ronan Cox, Andy McPadden, Ciaran Lynch, Derek Connellan, David Keenan.

As for u20s we should have a decent team based on Minor teams of 2020 and 21.
Mind you Sligo similarly will have a strong team too.
Is it just a coincidence they've been drawn in the Prelim Round or is it another G/Mo/? conspiracy.....?

More than hold our own. We have plenty of lads to return as either starters or sub impacts. Ryan Conlon, Conor Hand, Rory Carthy, Oisín Cregg, Jamesie Greene, Rob Heneghan, Senan Lambe etc

Worth noting Sligo will be as strong if not stronger than Galway, Mayo. Defending champions pick of two good minor teams in 2020/21 and given the extra boost of confidence yesterday by winning the Connacht A and B school titles. So a challenging championship opener awaits for us.

Don't know, but things mustn't have been right in the camp. Management resignation statement seems to have questioned the committment of some players. Terrible time to go looking for a new management team.

Alot of players did not commit this year:

Conor coyle
Hugh Rooney
Cathal Dolan
Eoin Kiernan
Cormac Coyle
Darragh Heavy and then Padraig Kelly walked last week

Something not right there

Very low ebb. Management that should have stepped aside last year when they failed at the two clearly reachable objectives of Div 3A promotion and winning the Nickey Rackard Cup.

Left us bottom of the Div 3A so the only way is up. Fermanagh (A) Armagh (H) Monaghan (A) if we can finish 3rd in the table it's a promotion play off but will require a bounce from the new management.

I saw them in the Dome in January & they looked well setup on the field. Richie Power from Kilkenny I'd imagine would be a serious addition to the management. League results so far haven't reflected potential…

From following Monaghan the last few years a lot of those players would be the spine of the team.

Very interested to know what the issues are because it was a high profile coaching ticket which is always attractive to hurling people and players within counties below the top tier. If there are lessons here, they could be applied to other counties...

I'm only speculating but is there a certain standard which fellas from counties where hurling is dominant, such as Clare, expect and that can be difficult to achieve in counties like Roscommon? I'm not on about skill levels but general standards, committment, preparation, etc. That might not be it at all. There was meant to be a fall out over the use of the new gym last month or the month before.

Was some issues with the use of the gym but i believe that was sorted out. Preparation was 2 days in the gym and 3 on the training pitch each week.
