Was none and hard to believe the rumour story grew legs given it was started by a unreliable individual on twitter.

Joyce will be manager for the next two years what needs replacing upgrading his the coaches and thank the two Cavan chaps for their time.

Is it now time to have a serious conversation about making an effort to form some sort of Divisional Cup / League for Hurling and Football in County Galway to allow high achieving club players to play at a higher level but trapped in a Junior, Intermediate or Outside the Top 6 Senior Clubs. Especially considering the restructuring of the Hurling grades this year and the number of footballers from Galway now playing in the Dublin Championship in an attempt to access and retain a greater level. Initiatives like this work in Kerry & Cork and more recently Meath & Roscommon.

Alarm bells should be ringing."
Tuam Stars had 2 on the minor panel and were the joint-second highest represented club on the U20 2026 squad (4 players, tied with Corofin), behind Oranmore-Maree, who had 6 players.
They're also being well represented on U16 and St Jarlath's teams over the last few years.
I believe they are fielding 'A' and 'B' teams at both U15 and U17 this year, and have multiple teams across their younger age groups.
I am the furthest thing from a Tuam Stars supporter, but they are doing good work with their underage development over the past number of years.
So I think unlike some urban/town teams, young footballers aren't being lost at an alarming rate in Tuam.

I was going to say the same. Making that point about Tuam might have been valid in the past, but they've actually been progressing very well at underage in the last number of years. They've had some real quality teams and are improving across the board.
Galway City is a different story alright. Participation rates there are very low in general. As a proportion of population, we get very little feeding into county level.
