Replying To Eire89:  "Is there a chance he is back for final. Spiddal have 2 current co panelists Liam O C & Finian O Laoi. Maghnus and Antaine also represented Galway in past. Liam O Ceallaigh a fine footballer too. I think they will have too much for Caltra but it should be a good game. Looks like SK & Moycullen sat night under lights in Pearse and Spid & Caltra sun in Tuam. Hopeful of 2 good finals."
No he will be out for the year, from what I have heard he has done his cruciate which is a big loss for them, hard to look past Spiddal in the final

Two exciting close games but I'd make SK warm favs even with Maher out.

They have good quality all over field and surely next year DOF has to be given a starting 15 jersey with Galway and given long term

Moycullen are pretty limited up front and have a goalkeeper issue which in fairness they've had for years.

Only downside from 2 games was quality of goalkeeping thought the 4 on show were a long way off gleeson and Flaherty

Caltra the same predicament too, with Mountbellyah and Bannlishshlow.

What was the official attendance under lights in Salthill for that double header on Saturday night?

Can you honestly say DOF gave a better performance over the 60 mins than K Molloy or Silke? If no then hard to see where he fits in starting 15.

Same for goalkeepers I had praised o Sullivan previously but he crumbled under pressure.
Power I thought very good under pressure in first half.

I say Maghnus got MOM? Ya moycullen def have a goalkeeper issue and it cost them last year and that was a big mistake for the tuam goal. I am hoping for 2 exciting quality finals

Mountbellew to Balinasloe is 17 miles. And the parish of Caltra/Ahascragh runs right up in close to both towns. 3 roads out of Mountbellew will take you into Caltra/Ahascragh parish in less than 2km. And runs close enough to Ballinasloe too. Its a sprawling area and i guess even though they probably dont get many footballers from it the amalgamation of Ahascragh Fohenagh probably allows the Killure/Fohenagh area to feed in . Not to mention the occasional Ballymac lad ( might even see more of that if Pearses continues decline). Dont get me wrong like all the rural parishes in North/East Galway numbers are not aplenty in Caltra / Ahascragh but its a demographic squeeze, not a geographical one.

Don't know much about the demographic of the Caltra area but I do know they have been poor at underage since they made a minor A final 7/8 years ago. Maybe someone from Caltra can tell me if they do go up do they have sufficient underage talent coming through to stay up and compete.

On a side note I think the only true way to see what pick a club has is to get the numbers from the schools in the catchment area. Would probably give you a greater view of what these clubs have to play with. Don't know are these figures open to the public.
