Purely based on performance in All-Ireland competition and as I said any of final 8 can take each other out on their day and this game is no different. You seem very upset about the rankings but failing to beat Dublin in opening round at home has you in this position. Can't say Galway deserved to displace Donegal, Dublin or Kerry based on weekends performance but they are the only 3rd placed team to make to last 8. Perhaps Galway will improve and Meath might have an off day. All the ties are setup well!"
Please be assured that I'm not at all upset, let alone very upset about the ranking. I'm just pointing out some obvious anomalies between your rankings, and your match predictions, to say nothing of bookie odds. 'No such thing as favourites' was Cody's line, certainly worked for him.

I really don't see how he can be 100%, those shoulder injuries take a bit of time to recover from and don't heal over night. Might need a few painkilling injections to get through it.

The bookies have been very wrong this year and smart punters have made kind returns. The bookies make predictions based off media like lazy RTE punditry and the usual spoof about the so called favoured teams. The new rules have tightened up the competition greatly and those that have respected and embraced the game best have made great gains. Not concentrating enough on data from this year and recent weeks alone.
The game was in the doldrums for over a decade up until this year. It is back where it should be so hopefully the best team at the end of the year with the best footballers come out on top.

He will have great knowledge of Walsh and likely knows how to shut him down or at least keep him limited. Meath have monsters in midfield and an array of 2 point shooters. While they have some injury issues, they have a decent panel and will punish an indiscretions from distance with their keeper's free taking. They have it in them to beat anyone. No fluke that they beat Dublin and hammered Kerry. This will be a very tough game. I do think we are marginally better and should win if we play sensibly and don't give up any howlers."
Great knowledge of Walsh every team does video analyisis and struggle to contain Walsh he is up there with best forwards in game at minute when on form which he has been last 2 games against Armagh & Down. i hope his shoulder injury is not bad I would not risk him against meath and only put him on if needed. hope injuries dont catch up wioth us similat to last year but every team gets these and I feel our panel is very strong but inside forward would be our weakest IMO see last year when Finnerty was injured he put on Heaney instead of an inside forward. Hopien Damo gets seen this weekend for 20 or so. Another huge impact from O Flaherty but think PJ is right to keep him as an impact sub.

the only players their fans can even name are the injured ones, because they havent bothered following them until their freak victories against Dublin & Kerry (which will be the highlights of their year).

How do you think bookmakers make very consistent profits year on year if they simply make predictions based off lazy media analysis? If that was the case Armagh would be 1/5 this week v Kerry rather than 8/11. Never mind the influence of a betting exchange market, which takes the bookmaker out of the equation. If you misunderstand the gambling industry that much then id strongly suggest you stop betting, it's a dangerous game

This is the worst forum i've ever seen, literally just a bunch of wasters slagging each other, nobody seems to have any interest in actually talking about the game. Would yous not just ignore all the trolls? They're only commenting to get people riled up and you lot are putty in there hands. God forbid someone actually wanted to talk about the match they may go elsewhere..

Im expecting a win at the weekend, as long as we are fully focused on the game and not have one eye on potential opponents in a semi final we should have enough for Meath.
My big worry is the way teams cut through us down the middle. I would like to see our number 6 man his position and not get drawn up the field. It looks like that will be Kelly but I would rather him at 7 with the option of going forward and have Daly at 6 with instructions not to pass midfield and keep the distance between 3 and 6 tight.
Under no circumstances should Walsh play unless he is 100% fit which I'm led to believe he is not. 3 weeks rest will do him no harm. We have men to step up in his place.

Ive been guilty of responding to the trolls myself at times but you are right, the trolls have effectively taken over and real conversations on the match are struggling to get off the ground.
Looking forward to the game on Sunday. Which Meath will we be facing do you think, the version against Dublin/Kerry or the version that played against Louth where they had loads of chances to put that game away?
