Galway people don't need me to defend them - but if you want to get a wind up, come up with something with more credible than "Mayo would turn up for the big days".

A bit uncalled for.

What am I talking about?? How about that Kelly has been playing clearly injured for a year now for both Galway and Moycullen. he needs time to rest and recover for the greater good for him his club and county he's no good for anyone playing in his current condition. Or we can have another Michael Donnellan scenario finished in his late 20s jm25 (Galway) - Posts: 1281 - 29/07/2024 15:50:58 2562695 Link 1 |
You're replying to a Westmeath poster there or so he claims anyway!

He commented on Mayo turning up on the big days though. Either way he's trying to wind things up and kicking Galway while there down. A post like that is not on. Bdonegal1991 (Donegal) - Posts: 88 - 29/07/2024 16:07:02 2562705 Link 3 |
God you are a dose

The margins are fine but I think your last sentence summed up the difference. Galway have become very good at patient methodical build up but looking at the final and semi they didn't mix up their attacking play enough. Ye turned both Donegal and Armagh over on a number of occassions but very slow then to counter. I know there is probably an element of not wanting to lose the ball when on the counter and then your own team is stretched but there needs at least to be a mix you'd imagine. Comer seems to be a player who thrives on quick direct ball and I'm not sure he got an awful lot of that. Then again on another day Shane Walsh hits the target with most of those efforts and Galway are AI winners. There was nothing in it really.

What part of Donegal are you from? Swineford?

Hard luck yesterday. One ye should have won. Thought ye were always comfortable till the goal and ye really never recovered yer composure after that. moros (Roscommon) - Posts: 1108 - 29/07/2024 17:39:57 2562731 Link 1 |
Pressure makes players and managers do things they wouldnt usually.. The line seems to get a bit frazzled after the Finnerty injury.. A like for like change with Culhane would have been more sensible option and not disrupt team shape or weaken bench impact as much.. but hindsight is 20/20 unclegerry (Mayo) - Posts: 1223 - 29/07/2024 18:04:46 2562738 Link 5 |
You were calling them gutless less than 24 hours earlier. Spare us your sanctimonious posts cause you're neither funny or interesting.

Not sure about comfortable as it was 0-10 to 0-9 before the goal and any goal in low scoring game was going to be a huge score. Galway surprisingly defended poorly in that moment.

Who? Me? The comment was that Mayo always turn up on the big days but Galway didn't and I think its uncalled for. How would that show Mayo colours? Anyway I just dont like to see people trying to wind other people up and rubbing there noses in losses on forums like this. Bdonegal1991 (Donegal) - Posts: 88 - 29/07/2024 19:23:10 2562747 Link 2 |
Mcgrath let campbell past way to easy, fresh legs caught him out for pace. McHugh ball watching for a split second let the Armagh man in behind him for the tap in. In fairness to Walsh he tried to cover mchugh but was to late reacting. I would of liked to see gleeson clear man and ball out but it was the failure to stop the runner through the middle that cost them.

Gleeson had a good year. That said, he didn't leave a glove on the ball or the man a meter from his own goal line.
