Replying To Claretandblue:  "Four points up in injury time, zero pressure on him, nice chip flick aside it was hardly Matt Connor in his prime"
Matt Connor was an out an out forward and a very good forward but he didn't have the raw pace to get past defenders and get up and down the pitch like Shane Walsh does outside of the outrageous skill he has. When he is in that type of form he is the best player in the country no doubt so less of the begrudgery and sour grapes.

Replying To PoolSturgeon:  "Might be in flying form now but dont think elite players can keep it going for 12 months of the year without a proper break -- which is basically what is required if playing with a very successful club and playing county as well."
If he's managed right, he doesn't need to keep it going for 12 months. Does he need to play all of the league? The championship doesn't really start until the round robin, so there's time to give him a break if needed. The aim is to try to have him right for June to August, hopefully.

He's going to be with Kilmacud for another two months so he definitely shouldn't be sighted in the league. His first game should be the Connacht final. Don't burn him before that.

Any new management updates for clubs, I presume a lot of clubs will want to get it wrapped up before the Christmas. Claregalway, Tuam Stars, St Michael's, Aran, Lettermore, Kilannin, Barna, Salthill.

Replying To Marooned:  "Actually only 4 Mayo lads on the panel although two of them are big names in Conroy and O'Donoghue.

Galway lads who started last night are Colin Murray, Cian Monaghan, Diarmuid Kilcommins, Paul Kelly, Liam O'Conghaile, Ryan Monaghan and Cathal Sweeney.

James McLaughlin and Cillian O'Curraoin also played last night. Not sure did Daniel O'Flaherty play but he's involved anyway. Few other Galway lads on the panel."
Haha mayo must be living in Galway heads only 4 mayo guys in panel you say...yet 2 of them pretty big names and who guaranteed the sigrrson Cup final ha

Living in Galway houses rather than heads, I'd say. Hopefully rent-free for their sake.

PJ let him off to Australia. If he doesn't hit the form for Galway it's not because management are pushing him too hard. He was given a significant break that others didn't get and I'm not going to feel sorry for anyone that had a long season and won a club all ireland. A club all ireland is more precious than Sam Maguire. It's not even close for me on which I would rather.

Hopefully he keeps this form for the year

Corofin beaten by the better team in St Brigids. Hard luck to them, just didn't go their way on the day. Was Molloy injured? Was this the reason for him not starting.

100 % Clare... note the spelling...

Corofin well beaten.. fully deserved.
Lots of those Corofin older lads found it tough going

Corofin very poor today. Kept trying to kick the ball into a blanket defence and kept getting turned over. Only really changed tactics at half time but were chasing the game by then. And Sice had a nightmare on the frees which prevented them from drawing level at least a few times. 2-5 won't win you many games even in winter.

Better team won.

Hard luck to Corofin. I really thought they'd perform better in the 2nd half once Silke grabbed that goal.

Congratulations to St Brigids. Hard luck Corofin. I hope Brigids wins the whole thing.

Got a goal alright but the man he was marking scored 1-8 (albeit the goal was a penalty). That's not good defending.

Fair comment. When I said it he'd just gotten a goal against the run of play and I really thought it was the start of Corofins comeback.

Great defender but no today wasn't a good day for him.

There won't be a change in goalkeeper anyway! Not a good advertisement today
