Replying To moc.dna:  "Amazing how certain people are driving all around the country from province to province & county to county, all for the love of the game. Who seriously believes that these people are doing this for a few quid expenses.
Where are Revenue & the GAA on this, do they seriously believe that nobody sees what's going on, it's disgraceful & morally wrong.

As for certain names being bandied around for appointment, unless a sugar Daddy comes on the scene it is not going to happen, everyone knows that their is a serious lack of funds in Galway.
As for the fanciable idea that one of the Multinational's is waiting in the wings with an endless supply of cash, you can forget that as no Multinational is going to put their name & brand beside an organisation that has had serious financial irregularities in the past or be waiting wondering when is the next scandal going to break & have their name & brand associated with it.

Appointment should be local & their is enough talented managers out there, but as usual no one will touch the poisoned chalice or deal with all the politics that is rife."
Shefflin is in,I wish him well,Galway will either make him or break him

Shefflin now. We are just being trolled at this stage!! I would take a proven Davy over an unproven Henry. Good 2 years with his club, but would couldnt have guided those panel of players he had to club success

I'm sure when there is something to announce, they will announce it."
King Henry on the way

Replying To Waveitwide:  "I can't understand where you are going with this.I said Donoghue doesn't seem to be interested and to move on.You have gone on about attending interviews yourself for jobs and you did say that because they are amateurs they are answerable to nobody. If you are employed by the county board you are answerable to that county committee and it's members.Move on will you and by the way there will be news on the appointment this evening and I didn't get that from the Clare echo."
If you're too stupid to grasp what I was saying, that's on you, not me. You're clearly not a fan of context. You're doing plenty of 'going on' yourself but that's your right, this is a discussion forum, so you can go on as long as you wish. I wont be trying to shut you down because I can't debate with you.

You've actually answered the question while claiming you can't understand 'where I am going with this' which is just baffling, so I have no idea what you're bleating about.

But I'll break it down for you. If you are NOT 'employed' by the CB you're not answerable to them or anyone else. Can you grasp that?

Thank you for breaking the news for me btw. I'll move where I like, btw, maybe you should follow your own advice instead of dishing it out and 'dealing in facts'. It's not serving you very well.

But on the positive side it looks like we both got an outcome we can be largely happy with.

Revenue and the GAA can't act on rumour and suspicion alone though. This isn't Germany in the 1930's.

If you possess a skill set that is in demand from other counties why on earth would you be expected to coach/manage for the love of the game?

I mean, sure, the GAA could bring in a rule demanding locals only, but I doubt it would take off. Not a terrible idea though. But it will never get any traction.

Shocked that a county of Galway's stature have no one in the county worthy of the job ... there will be some moolah involved bringing Henry from Ballyhale to Galway 3 or 4 times a week.... min 4 hr round trips. And then there's the day job. Some commitment and that comes with a price tag...

Brilliant hurling man, We definitely have the hurlers.... all this talk of the hurlers are gone is rubbish! They are not gone and haven't left the Country. There is Brilliant talent right here in front of our eyes!
He is ideal to get the best out of them.

Looks like its Henry shefflin a real curveball appointment by the country board I hope he is not using galway as a springboard for the kilkenny job

I'm very happy with Shefflin coming to Galway. He should be able to command the respect needed from both the players under him but also from Galway GAA in general. I'm more excited for Galways Hurling future than I was a few hours ago. Galway Abu!!!
