Replying To katser:  "So realistically the Intermediate Championship is a 4 horse race, whoever wins the Final between TAD and Kinvara will be replaced by Beagh next year.
Next year Meelick-Eyrecourt, Carnmore, Beagh and loser between TAD and Kinvara."
Add in Killimor and Sylane who are usually in the mix

So what? The stronger clubs this year will be expected to be at the sharp end next year? Why would this be news?

Kinvara and Carnmore outperformed expectations this year and the former's age profile is positive even if TAD win the final this year. I would think SMM and Ballygar will be stronger next year, Killimor haven't gone away either.

Realistically most competitions in most sports are fortunate if there are even 4 realistic horses in the race no matter how big the field is.

Toms are going for 7 in a row but you still wouldn't call the Galway SHC 'uncompetitive'

That was a great day of hurling yesterday.

Feel for Carnmore, but they have some nice young players. Always felt like TAD just had that experience to keep that at arms length. Game turned in to a free taking competition at some points but enjoyable finish

Kinvara vs M/E was the best game I have seen this year. Real physicality and intensity and some quality shooting. I thought despite the scoreline ME had a handle of things at half time. Downey and the Flemings playing well and their midfield are serious runners particularly Gohery.

The second half though, Kinvara showed their stuff. The pace was apparent and Whelan was excellent. As ME tired, Joshua O Connor, Oisin Ivers and Tadgh Heavey started winning and coming out with the world of ball. Also a mention to young Michael Curtin who was a nightmare for the ME defenders with his pace

I also thought the ME backs were poor, kinvara got them scores a bit handier, eyrecourt had to work harder

Unlucky Meelick-Eyrecourt once again they can have no complaints.....they didn't grab the nettle when the game was there for them! Ahh the beautiful losers, the nearly men when will they learn their lesson.
Always seem to snatch defeat from the Jaws of victory!
TAD will be favourites for the Final no doubt, but Kinvara will make it a very good contest!

Depends if the 4 of them keep all the players they have this year, and who comes up out of minor also. Alot can change in an off season.

The Intermediate Final I would give Kinvara a great chance of winning and wouldn't be surprised if they did...they seem to have a knack of coming out the right side in a tight affair especially when not the favourites to win!
Remember the 2000 Senior Relegation Final....deep in injury time up steps the great Gerry Mac and bang over the bar Kinvara win by 1pt!
The 2007 Senior QF ......deep deep in injury time Kinvara losing by 2pts up steps big David Huban 21yrd free and wham smashed the roof of the net to send Kinvara into Co.Semi Final by 1pt!
Both games Kinvara were probably not favourites to win but they "grabbed the nettle"

Try the 2019 IHC final, won by a point with an injury time goal after being behind for the entire game :) Kilconieron to their credit ate everyone else the following season

Yes Sir, the 2019 Intermediate Final another smash and grab the nettle for Kinvara!
Kinvara can become only the 2nd Club to win the triple this year......
Athenry Senior B winners, Minor A winners and Junior A winners.
Kinvara Minor B winners, Intermediate Final TBC, Junior F Final TBC.

Awesome achievements. Fair play to both Athenry and Kinvara.

A thought I had leaving Kenny Park to day , is this the first year we have a team in both finals with a sash as part of their colours in both senior finals and is it a preface of a something new that might happen this year?

Not the first time for sure. It happened as recently as two years ago. The same two teams as well, Loughrea and Maigh Cuilinn.

Wonderful Athenry and Kinvara who must be teams of the future;
Great to see Cappy up against The Town in the final.
Interesting that (most) Cappy players learned their craft in New Inn College.
As a Sarsfielder I am torn who to support in the final as we are wedged between them.
Great for East Galway.
Speaking of achievements how about the Sarsfields Collens wining THREE county championships this year.
Mind you, with Hopper having (is it 6 daughters?) in the teams, its a bit unfair.
