Any word on the injuries to O Keeffe and Dunbar lads? Hopefully we have a full squad to choose from .

Crazy decision to have this game in thurles as part of a double header. The tailteann cup is the reason as they're trying to showcase and don't want any games on elsewhere at the same time due to tv commitments. Should've been croke park as a doubleheader on Saturday"
Jesus less than 100 tickets per club is scandalous that would be only less than 5000 tickets for Wexford clubs.

Don't know about Dunbar or Dwyer who they say got a knock of some kind.
Dee was warming up on the sideline during the Kerry game, so i gather from that he should be okay for Saturday. We're going to need him big time i think.

I disagree should be 2 great games … I hope to be honest if there 2 bad games I won't care as long as we win that's the be all and end all. Tickets are going through the clubs and normally what happens Is at the end of the week tickets will become available

Looks bad alright for clubs but that wouldn't be the entire Wexford allocation. Remember cairde members are guaranteed 1 ticket for this game. Just applied for mine there. Id be interested to know just how many cairde members there are and if the promised guaranteed ticket can be allocated.

Was posting on another forum and a positive statistic came to me. Our record this season against the 5 remaining counties in the AI series is-
Played- 7
Won- 5
Drawn- 2
Lost- none

Confirmed 50 stand and 40 terrace tickets per club. Meanwhile I understand tickets were intermittently available in Supervalu/Centra during the day. Piddling them out haphazardly means there is no poattern and no order to any of this.
Our club took orders for the bones of 200 tickets this evening.
Saying they'll probably turn up in the end is true and also not good enough. Families separated, hassle and stress, for no reason.
The big problem is the people who make the decisions never have to worry where their tickets are coming from, and have no idea what it's ike.
I've been to every game this year, Mullingar, Tralee, the lot. This was entirely predictable and entirely avoidable.

Didn't look good for Dunbar looked in a lot of pain going off. Dwyer was rubbing his back going off so hopefully only a twinge.

Our club had about 200 tickets ordered . A lot of kids will be disappointed they can't go to the game.

Yes Viking, your accountancy is correct but it must be remembered the earlier league games while good to win were against sides that were somewhat flat and showed low levels of fitnes.
As you know only too well, the championship is a different animal altogether.
We really should have been beaten by Galway. We lost to Dublin. Beat a very poor Laois team
and drew with westmeath. The Kilkenny match was of course our standout performance.
So we got to where we are by playing only one good game.
Looking at your statistics our record looks very good but when you unravel them the picture gets clearer.
Its alway good to get wins in the league. Builds confidence and helps to strengthen the panel, which we have done in heaps.
The league counts for nothing now. Ask waterford.
The Clare game will tell us a lot about our team.
This is where it really gets tough and we will see where we are.
Very few will be giving us a chance on Saturday but i honestly believe we have the players, we have the passion, we should have the hunger in spades to cause an upset. However we must play with great intensity and keep Tony Kelly tightly marked.
Great day in store and I'm going for us to win by 5 points.

We've nothing to lose this weekend, providing we put up a decent performance, it could be put down as a good year. With the few injuries Clare have, and the lack of fear for current KK team, we could actually end up in an All Ireland Final, are we the second best team in the country, no...... but it's fine margins.

On another note, any start date for club fixtures?

Re. club fixtures, our club secretary has sent round an email that was issued last night. Obviously it all depends on how far Wexford go:

If Wexford lose to Clare - senior hurling starts Tuesday June 28
If Wexford beat Clare but lose semi-final - it starts Tuesday July 12
If Wexford reach All-Ireland Final - it starts Tuesday July 26

Some Intermediate & Intermediate 'A' fixtures involving clubs that don't have county players are down for the Sundays before those Tuesdays. The other games in those grades are also fixed for the Tuesdays.

Junior & Junior 'A' is mainly down for the Wednesdays.

Are you bringing league the league into the discussion again? Has league performance not been turned upside down and shaken apart so far?

Yes there was an excel spreadsheet circulated around last night, and it was the most organised I have seen the CB from a fixtures point of view perhaps ever.

Basically had all the venues and throw-in times fixed (midweek games included), with three potential start dates depending on how Wexford do. Should we lose Saturday (I hope not) its down to start this day two weeks (allowing for Wexford's bye-law of a nine day period for clubs to have access to returning county players). If we win, the commencement date is pushed back a fortnight, and if we get to the AI final (please god), it'll be delayed a further two weeks.

This stuff is all fairly subjective.

Had the Galway game gone on another few minutes we'd have won.

Thought Dublin were just a little more focused but nothing between us.

We got what we deserved against westmeath, yet nobody mentioned the square ball.

None of it matters come Saturday, but a bounce here or there and we might be in a semi already.

Yes we do have something to lose.
We have an all ireland quarter final to lose.Cant understand people who say "ah sure we have nothing to lose" winning would be huge and losing would be devastating.
I'm sure the players, the management and the vast majority of the supporters won't be saying
"nothing to lose.

Replying To Viking66:  "3-1 still seems on the generous side though CC"
Initially, on the face of it, it might seem generous. But let's look at it with a bookies eye.
On the one hand you have Clare. Unbeaten in the Munster round robin group, winning 3 games and drawing 1.
It took a very good/exceptional Limerick team two games plus extra-time to beat them.
On the other hand you have Wexford. They beat Kilkenny, an average to good team. That's it. So, 3/1 is probably a fair price. Luckily, sport and hurling games in particular, don't always go the way of logic or form.
While Clare are odds on to win, this is not a Kerry v Wexford, or Antrim v Cork type of game. So of course Wexford have a chance. I will be shouting for Wexford (and Galway) on Saturday, as I always do when a Leinster team plays a Munster one. But I won't be backing Wexford. If I was to have a bet I'd use the handicap betting, Wexford +6 points 8/13.
Anyway, good luck on Saturday, it would be great to shut up a few of our noisy (Munster) neighbours on here.
