Any way you folks on here track your own posts. I'm not too computer savvy at best of times.

Nope. I don't know. The one thing this forum could do with is getting rid of the green thumbs thing. They got rid of the red ones, or either that show who is liking posts.

You've stirred up a hornets' nest.
KillingFields will be along soon and we won't hear the end of it until after Christmas.

I'm kind of surprised that KillingFields (Limerick) hasn't made reference to your post, he has an interest in forum issues.

It's not as great forum this, even after all the years. Many forum templates out there that allow you to do much more , including seeing users posts and such that you're looking for. My best way for you is to search your user name in google with Site:www.hoganstand.com after it. It at least will filter results down to pages with your name. Check this link here

Whats wrong with looking for basic improvements that are a given on nearly all other forums
This is stone age while nearly all other forums are in the 21st century...

Will you be willing to pay for these improvements?

Id chip in to help. A better more modern forum would get more visitors and more users and therefore drive more advertisers to the site which would increase revenue which would help cover costs of any improvements as well. like what happens on any other forum

I think forum without trolling clowns with more than username posting about how things can be 'upgraded' would help. Apologies in advance to clowns

Pay for it? There are literal free templates out there runs by fan sites that are a million miles better than here. This is by far the worst forum layout I've ever seen, and it was already very dated when they changed it to this in the late 2000s. And we push traffic towards the sites and help them get paid with adverts, there is no need for us to pay anything when there are so many good options out there. Improvements are not hard and are expected every few years on sites, and this hasn't changed in over a decade

How much 'traffic' does HS get? How much does it earn from advertising?
Free templates still need to be managed, people paid to do it.

Copy + paste one of the better ones, job done!
I think a transition year student could do a better forum.

It suits that the many posters from Wexford, and the few from Cork. Don't be making suggestions that might make things complicated for them, please.

Put a better forum online so and we'll all join it. Hoganstand isn't exclusively a forum site.

it isnt but that doesnt mean the forum still cant be updated. even the main site could do with a revamp. far too much white space/no text or colour on there as well.

Traffic used to be better. The forum was far more active years ago, but they sat on their haunches and didn't update, left a lot of WUMs, and we've lost many good posters. We would still generate traffic flow, and they get paid on ads based on visitors per month for example. And yes they still need to be managed, but like they're already managing this brutal format so it's not like they're not spending time on it as it is. The reply function doesn't work half the time and some threads are unreadable due to the way it messes up. They probably spend more time fixing messes than what a good modern forum would take. They could even bring in moderators from users who are here a long time and are very active. Nearly every other forum does this, this one is dysfunctional on every level...
