Ros won province twice in last 4 years for no all-star and stayed up in div 2 or got promoted in them 4 years.
Fair dues to Cavan but ild fancy us more than 50% of the time against them as the recent record shows it's 70% plus of the time, seems some winnings of provinces overhyped.

We got 3 All Stars… Galligan .. Faulkner and Thomas Galligan…… I would say no team in division 3/4 has ever got 3 all stars… When we won Ulster in 97 ( playing division 1 football ) we only got 1 ( McCabe picked out of position )….! Makes you wonder

Hard to know what way the all stars are worked out.

In 2008 after beating Meath and Laois to reach a Leinster final and then beating Down and Armagh before losing to the eventual all Ireland winning team Tyrone in the all Ireland semi final, no Wexford player got an all star.

Has to be a record that nobody would want, the other teams in div 4 will enjoy playing the Cavan All Stars next season for sure.

4 All Stars relegated to Division 4 when you add Conor Sweeney.

Don't forget that last yes was an unusual knockout championship which brought an unusual amount of Allstars for Cavan as Ulster winners because they had 4 matches, giving them more exposure than any other team apart from Dublin and Mayo.

Two of them, the Monaghan and Donegal matches got a lot of coverage.

Any other year they wouldn't have made it past QF or Super 8, and would prob have had 1 Allstar to acknowledge the provincial win.

Ok so you have gone from division one to division 4 in a few short years but look on the bright side. The only way is up. Good chance of topping division 4 next year, and a Tailteann cup a possibility over the coming years. Cavan have a good heritage in GAA & I am sure they will bounce back. Chin up lads! And great to have won the Ulster in 2020 - plenty will try & downplay that because of the circumstances, but the lads have their medals to prove it & of course the all stars.
Am sure it's just a blip

i suppose Cavan played 5 games last year in the championship which was more than most teams. I think it was a reward for the ulster final win against all the odds and with some notable big guns knocked out early and only playing one game there was more scope for inclusion of Cavan players

Ciaran Lyng should have got an all star that year as well as Michael Meehan for Galway. Westmeath got 2 all stars that year even though they were knocked in the qualifiers by eventual champions Tyrone. The all stars can be at times dubious and often even though I would not be gone on the Sunday game and some of their analysis they seem to do a better job when picking their team a lot of the time.

Meehan was an amazing player. Did he get an all star in the end? Wexford have only 1 football all star ever. Matty Forde in 2004.

Same thing with Roscommon in 2010. Donie Shine should have won one that season.

Depending on how their Championships go, one of Cavan or Tipperary may go down as the worst provincial champions in history.

Exactly, That Wexford team were playing at a high level for a number of years around then, and got to Div 1 League Final v Armagh in 2005 if I recall as well as coming close in Leinster.

Definitely deserved at least 1 for run to All Ireland Semi Final.

Let's face it, Cavans run was exceptional, two great comebacks against Monaghan and Down, and faced up to a strong Donegal team. Alot of the other teams did have the same fight! They were fortunate with few injuries not like this year! They lifted alot of people's hearts in a bad covid year! Let's hope some of the other counties can do the same this year!! Fair play to Cavan and Tipperary, you at least did it last year! Someone else's turn this year!

Not really. It was straight knockout. When you won, there was a back door so less riding on the provincial.

Limerick have no football All Star. despite going toe to toe with Cork and Kerry on a regular basis from 2003 to 2011. In 2004 when Kerry obliterated every other team they met, Limerick held them to a draw and took them down to the wire in the replay in Killarney
