You're right but it's been that way for a long time now, great players have always been very adaptable..
Look at Brian Whelehan.
Won an AI in 94 from centre back.. Won again in 1998 from the forwards.
Ciaran Carey was regularly switching back and forth between midfield and centre back for a few years.
Eamonn Cregan in 1973, best forward Limerick had gave a tour de force at centre back.
(Wasn't around then but that's what my parents tell me)

JJ Delaney, one of the best full backs of all time was converted from the half backs.

Tommy Walsh started life as a half forward.

They're the few that spring to mind immediately.
What's changed is the traditional 15 on 15 holding their positions.. Lads are constantly interchanging over the last 20 yrs. Tony Kelly and Austin Gleeson case in point, they pop up everywhere.

I always feared Cheddar's Laois teams down in Portlaoise. Something about that tight pitch and their ability to win frees was always a little unsettling when Galway visited. I believe the venues are going to be neutral this time around which won't suit them. But then again Wexford without their supporters present aren't quite Wexford somehow. I still tip them to win out though.
