Interesting link, I see Ballymun Kickhams now go joint 2nd in football with their 3 from Friday. It then got me thinking which club football side would have the most senior county medals on the pitch at any one time. So I did some quick "back of a cigarette box" calculations on Stacks and Kickhams using Wiki and Dublin gaa sites so it's by no means definitive and there are far more knowledgeable statisticians and historians than me on this forum.

I figured that if Stacks fielded a team just after that great kerry run came to an end in 86 the most medals they could have fielded was 26. Whereas if/when the six current county players for Ballymun next take to the pitch there'll be 36 medals between them, if so that's some tally, however as I said I'm open to correction on all this.

Maybe someone could do something similar for hurlung."
"have the most senior county medals...I figured that if Stacks fielded a team just after that great kerry run came to an end in 86..." Are you talking about county senior club championship medals, or All-Ireland Dublin medals?"]I should of course said Inter County AI's! Apologies!"]Since Ballyhale Shamrocks were formed in 1972, they (the players) have won 60 All-Ireland winners medals representing the county. That said, James Stephens who were founded in 1887 would probably have more (I don't have the figures). Outside of Kilkenny, there must be a few old clubs in Cork or Tipp who have plenty of AI medalists."]With respect Cat the question is what club team at any moment in time had/has most Senior Inter County AI football medals on the pitch at any one time? I counted Ballymun now have 36 (if the current 6 get to play together again). Mick from Kerry says Stacks in 86 had 30!

I know that Ballyhale Shamrocks has at least 24 awards, probably more: Henry has 11 alone, and there's loads of Fennelly's with awards, plus a fella called TJ.

James Stephen's have rakes of All-Stars too."]"and there's loads of Fennelly's with awards"

This Cork Arrogance

Perhaps,I'm wrong becoz I'm an an outsider, but is anyone else glad that Cork isn't winning anything lately?

I mean you've Kilkenny on top, but every one of those wins can be described or written in names likes Larkin, Shefflin, Walsh and Cody
Same/same with Maher,Doyle and McGrath in; Tipp. You can see the hard work that's involved.

But where you does this Cork arrogance, that we're entitled to AIs come from? I for one, could not care if Cork didn't win an AI again for 50 years; win one and feel you've earned it (similar story with Kerry in football).

What a class act Brian Fenton is (I personally thought that K Kilkenny was better this year) he is such a modest unassuming young man who has won so much never lost a championship game yet at least.

In fairness it seems all the Dublin players are like this now there was time going back when they cockiness got under your skin but not these lads super ambassadors for the GAA it was nice to hear that that Great Prince of Midfielders Jack O Shea texed B Fenton to congratulate him.
