They struggled against the only decent team they came up against- Galway and they were not great either.

Change the record lad. Amateurs v Professionals. So players like Jack McCaffrey, Denis Bastick, managers like Pat Gilroy had to drop out because they couldn't give the time that staying at the top demands but yet you call them professionals in all but name. Go back through the AI finals of the past few years and tell us how many Dublin won by a point, went to replay or perhaps shouldn't have won at all. This is a fantastic squad of players who work incredibly hard.

Mayo should try kicking the ball out into no-man's land and hope the Dubs start singing Stille Nacht

Wonder who will be doing the rte commentary this weekend, i'd put my money on a Dublin lovefest with the biased commentary of Desssie Dolan and Daragh Moloney. And Ciaran Whelan of course as a pundit republicofcloone (Leitrim) - Posts: 375 - 16/12/2020 14:20:05 2322872 Link 0 |
I don't think mayo are at the same level as previous years either but neither are Dublin. Mayo biggest test was Galway. Who did Dublin play in fairness no disrespect, Cavan and Meath. Don't get me wrong it was brilliant to see Cavan and Tipperary win their province but let's be honest if Cavan were to play Donegal 9 times out of 10 there would only be one winner. If Cork were to play Kerry again 7 times out of 10 there would only be 1 winner. Ask for Galway and mayo I would put it 50/50.

For my money Darragh Maloney is the only GAA commentator who seems to actually get excited watching matches anymore.

You're still up?? Wow for me. Change the record you said?? Look at the money pumped into them and then ask are they professionals in all but name?? Mc Caffrey obviously got sick of playing and good luck to him- at least he has a personality!! Bastick was past his best anyway baby and after seeing Pat Gilroy on the Sunday Game trying to defend the indefensible I don't think you should bring his name up

He does especially when Dublin are playing, can't help himself, him and Dessie only bother with first names when it comes to commentating on Dublin players, nearly cries with delight when Dublin score.

Oh definitely. Dolan offers such wonderful analysisss!! I know Dean, Ciaran, Stephen etc will be delighted with that! On first name terms with them all?? Surely cannot offer an unbiased view so..... Maloney's go to phrase "oh the eye is in" has to be the most vexing thing about him and believe me there are many

A most ignorant post regarding the Dublin players, insulting them without knowing one of them personally. Even if we were given zero money we'd still beat the huge personalities of Cavan off the park, cop yourself on.

Do you actually come to this forum to get a a reaction?? You are continually fighting with others. Two weeks ago you were trading insults with a Kilkenny lad and now you're back at it again?? What age are you???

Oh he's from Dublin, he's always the commentators for their games, no criticism of their negative play from him!
