Replying To mickcunningham:  "Fairly easy Dublin V mayo final. Dubs will hammer cavan and mayo will beat tipp. But tipp will give them a game. The 11 points that my county were beaten by will be the nearest any team will get to Dublin"
They've played nobody yet.

Major learning curve for Cavan but Dublin sometimes find it difficult to back up a big win
I called the AI drawn final last year
Dublin hit their peak against Mayo and I was worried about them being flatter against Kerry.
So going on my gut and understanding of Dublin, they might not click on Saturday.
If Cavan can click and Dublin's cake walk against Meath impacts on them, there could well be moments in the game where Cavan get on top and then it's all about maximizing those opportunities

I'll call it though - Dublin by 7

Mayo v Tipp
All depends what Mayo team shows up
They are capable of beating Tipp by 7 or 8 pts
Best of luck to Tipp, if they peak perform and Mayo underperform well it could end up being a bad result for Mayo

I'll call it though - Mayo by 4

Replying To Saynothing:  "Jealousy hanging out of some people. Cavan are better than all but 1 teams in Leinster. Fact, Cavan are there as Ulster Champions and they'll give a better account of themselves than I witnessed the other week, some Meath and Kildare people don't like it. Hope it pisses on you when you go for your walk tomorrow evening."
Days mixed up, Saturday evening.

Replying To Pericles:  "I'm with you on the animals thing Avonali and if it's any encouragement to Cavan I'd say our lads would have turned up in sequinned belly tops and body paint if it meant a 2 point turnaround in the final scores in either 2016 or 2017:) Chucking the GPS was nothing!"
Jesus, the prospect of Big Aido or Lee Keegan in sequinned belly tops and the Dubs would have been scuttling down Clonliffe Road at high speed.

Dublin and Mayo. I think both Cavan and Tipp will give good accounts of themselves but Dubs to pull away in 2nd half and Mayo to pop Tipp. Dublin by 9 and Mayo by 3.

Mayo +2. I'll watch that one. Its the last half interesting game of ball this year."

Cavan are 40/1 to be behind at half time and win.
50 punts of my confirmation money going on that.

Surprised to see all the predictions of a big Mayo win here in all honesty. Mayo have always squeaked past Tipp, as the qualifier in 2002 and the more recent ties in 2016 and 2018 show. We have not dominated midfield in any game this year really and this is an area where Tipp are strong. We are ultimately in transition and it will be interesting to see how a lot of our newer players adapt to Croker.

I'd hesitantly go for us but in a squeaker.

Cavan will give the Dubs their best test this season but you'd still expect the Dubs to come through it.

Would love to see Cavan putting it up to Dublin, which they will at certain times of the game but overall there's too much firepower and know-how in the Dubs. Dubs by 7+.
It suits Mayo that there's none of the usual build up, still all depends on if they show up on the day or not. Way too unpredictable as a team, can be fantastic and dreadful in the same game, never mind from one day to the next. Tipp have some excellent attacking options and their defence has been on a major learning curve over the last few weeks. Just don't see them having enough to get through this time. Mayo by 5+.

Replying To sourmilk93:  "Cavan might have played their best football in the second halves but if they play like they did in the majority of their first halves they will be 40 points behind at that stage. I am not trying to belittle Cavan they have done exceptionally well to win out Ulster but Dublin are at another level and if Cavan faced Donegal tomorrow I would expect Donegal to win.

Cavan are on a similar enough level to ourselves and Meath and we seen what the Dubs done to Meath last day out and us in recent years."
Cavan are a much better team than Roscommon, better players and better managed.

Dublin by as much as they want unfortunately.
Mayo after a Titanic battle.

Yea but only difference is we will be playing Dublin's first team as opposed to their second string that hammered ye on a few occassions. We will be competitive as we always are- yes we will lose but we won't throw in the towel like ye or Meath did anyway

Doesn't really matter what you think if this and that- the thing is we played Donegal and beat them well so your point is??? Sure if you use that logic if mayo played Roscommon in the morning I would expect Mayo to beat them. Oh I forgot they already did. Sorry my bad

Replying To CC2020:  "Mayo to beat Tipp by 1pt after extra time.

Cavan v Dublin postponed due to snowfall. In fairness you'd get better odds with a bookie than a Cavan win.

No disrespect to Cavan. They were relegated from Div 2. They are no better than Westmeath, Laois or Meath. They haven't received the same amount of beatings as Leinster counties so will have more belief, which will keep them afloat for a while."
Can't believe you're applying the league to the way Cavan have played in championship this year, when it's quite obvious the league has had no bearing. Cavan were within a kick of a ball of being promoted, never mind relegated. Went down on head to head even, so that's not a good judge. Even so, Cavan have beaten 2 Div 1 teams, and 1 Div 2, so this doesn't stack up. They seem better than those teams you named. A little bit of respect please for the way they went through and won one of the hardest Ulsters ever won.

think cavan will be ahead at half time but will get blown away in the second, mayo should will but having won munster and gaining ever more confidence, tipp will be in this game wont be surprised if its a repeat of that minor final dublin v tipperary with so many of the same players

That's comical.

League football is overrated, as we have shown. We wiped the floor with All Ireland contenders in the Ulster Final. Not bad for a D3 team wouldn't you say? Monaghan have been a division one team for about 7 years now, and it doesn't stand to them in championship football.
