Absolutely couldn't believe that, Branagan isn't fit to referee at this level, he gave Cavan soft frees and gave Dublin nothing early on, there should have been a ref from Munster or Connacht anyway.
Great final in store now, I think Mayo will give the Dubs a real test, hope they let some fans in for a bit of atmosphere.

And they still couldn't win , like in the Ulster final ref gave Donegal everything and Donegal couldn't win either, but at least he kept Donegal from getting the hiding that we got.

The only teams I could see giving Dublin a game. Would be Dublin of the late 70s and the 80s. Meath of the 80s. Less so Meath of the 90s. Kerry of the 80s and cork of the 90s. Why ? Cause half the dubs would be stretched off the field. But these days with the namby pamby of guys feinging injury when getting hair tossed etc have left us with refs who will let nothing pass."
Our Royal correspondent at it again, funny when teams started playing football Meath vanished. How jealous you are of good footballing counties. The 00s was one of the best decades for football and poor Meath weren't part of it. Hope you enjoyed watching on TV.

You have a short memory. I think we beat you as Ulster champions in the '00. Remember 2007 only for Sean Cavanagh it would have been embarrassing. Another virtuoso performance from Graham G.

well it's true . Donegal and Tyrone are the 2 best teams in Ulster. Monaghan have regressed slightly and Cavan have improved so , at the moment there is not much between them. Armagh are there or thereabouts too. Kerry are best team in Munster. But this is Knockout football for you. You have to accept that some lesser teams can beat a superior team in a once-off game and so their can be mis-matches in the semi-finals. In previous years the Kerrys, Donegals, Tyrones and possibly Galway would have emerged through the back door and made a semi-final. This is the beauty (or the flaw) of straight knockout football .

A magical Christmas week on the horizon awaits Dublin & Mayo. Lets see if we have the stomach for 6 & if Mayo can finally take their chances and finally land the holy grail. Congrats to both teams.

You can leave donegal out of the back door route to semis. Our record in the back door has been limited since 2003.
2006, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2016 all were quarter finals via the back door. The super 8s have not worked in our favour either.
Tyrone have done well, as have mayo in reaching the later stages via the back door. Who could forget Cork in 2010?

To summarise, the back door usually prolongs the agony for a team who will not win an all Ireland.
